don't know. I just know I wake up and my face feels so oily and damp that it's gross. it's never happened like this before the cpap, though.

i don't know the answer either, other than to be diligent about cleansing before bed...i've always been oily but now in the mornings i'm downright swampy...yuck

It might be your face is getting heated up by the heated humidifier, and your face sweat is very oily. I'd try running it in passover mode for a night, or as someone suggested in another thread, refrigerate the distilled water, and then run it in passover.

Before wearing a sleep apnea mask, your face would touch the pillow case and the oils were probably soaking into the pillow case. Now that you are wearing the mask, the oils are just sitting on your face. I have oily skin also, and have noticed that my face is very oily in the morning now, but my pillow case stays cleaner!

Did you always wash your face before bed before xPAP or have you changed your night time skin care in any way?

wash my face before bed most nights these days..... usually I'd skip it otherwise.

I've noticed the same thing, only the oiliness is everywhere on my face, not just the part of my face that's in the mask. I do wash my face every night now, but didn't before. I thought washing more would have dried it out more, but maybe not.
