Swollen Legs, Feet, Ankles???

Post by bouchat » Wed Nov 26, 2008 5:38 pm

My primary told me that my swelling problems below might be caused by sleep apnea. Thus informed I've just received my first 30 day evaluation of usage of my Respironics M Auto w/card.
That fiasco produced nothing as the tech failed to upload anything. He did tell me to "keep using it every night because it is helping" My swollen feet, ankles and legs are larger than ever
and the mask thing is uncomfortable. anyone had any success with swelling issues?

Suggest you get a referral to a lymphedema specialist. I had lymph nodes removed with my cancer surgery and started having swelling in a very embarrassing location. My oncologist sent me to a lymphedema specialist who taught me a short series of exercises (takes maybe 15 minutes) to do several times a day, or whenever the swelling is a nuisance.

End of problem.

sleep apnea can cause right heart failure (probably one of the most common causes actually), which causes lower leg swelling.

Swelling--Edema--not good. It could be heart failure, or sometimes an excess sodium situation that is easier to treat. Get yourself on over to a cardiologist! Good luck, Lovey

When I sleep better, my swelling is less.

Sleep apnea may be a contributing factor, but swelling as you describe merits further evaluation. I think besides the heart, swelling can come from kidney or thyroid trouble - all of which should be checked out.

And if your mask is uncomfortable, then you may need either a different size, a different mask altogether, or just a readjustment of it. Post your equipment in your profile so we can see what youre using.

Hey I hope things are getting better for you,
I try to put my legs up as much as I can during the day and at night I sleep with my legs elavtiveed
that helps with the pain, and I drink a lot of water, I go pee a lot but it helps to keep the salt flushed out?
and I want to shear this with you.
there is this music sight that a friend
just told me about and there is a family and this little girl singing she is so cute.
well it made me happy to listen,
http://drop.io/waterlily, you'll have to past or copy,
I don't know how to add the lick?
Happy Thanksgiving.
