Oxygen supplement for CPAP

Hi,

I'm having remstar Autopap. I need to have supplement oxygen. can any one support good solution for this ? I'm using respironics comfor Gel Nasal Mask...

If your Dr. thinks you need it, he will order it. it's supplied into a adaptor after the HH. Flow is set to the ordered rate with the XPAP running on you. I personally think it's of little use as most of the added O2 is vented from the mask. So when I used O2, I set my machine at double the rate ordered. Jim

Make sure the adaptor they give you has a check valve to keep the O2 from backing up into the machine if the machine isn't running.

When my sleep doctor prescribed supplemental oxygen for me, I got an oxygen concentrator, oxygen tubing, and an adapter from my DME (Durable Medical Equipment dealer). The tubing runs from the concentrator to the adapter, which fits right on my xPAP hose. Hope that helps...

If your doctor determined that you need 02 as well as your CPAP he will include that addition w/your equipment order (script) and your local DME provider will set it all up properly. Some of the 02 concentrators can be pretty noisy so we set mine up in the adjacent room and my husband ran a small hole thru the wall for the tubing so we didn't have to trip over it. We sat the concentrator on a small piece of outdoor carpeting remnant to reduce noise as well. They aren't wall-banging loud but loud enough they aren't pleasant to have in the bedroom with you.
