I got a new mask today! the fitlife (avatar)

I just got a new mask today, the dme just dropped it off..

My husband calls it the avatar mask..

We discussed many masks, and after he looked at my cheekbones and nose bridge, he said he thought every mask would leak into
my eyes, as they have been.. sooooooooooooooooo..

Its the avatar! My husband says I look like a jet pilot, I tried on him (he was a jet pilot) and he loved it, and said he wouldnt mind
wearing one of those at all.. SO MAYBE NOW HE WILL SAY YES TO HIS SLEEP STUDY... and I will get a snore free night too!

I had to tighten the straps up quite a bit when the pressure went up.. (love that mask fit feature on the s9) but there was no pressure
anywhere near my eyes or nose, and I liked that..

Maybe tomorrow, I will hate it.. (have any of you tried it?)

Oh I got the new climate hose too, and figured out there are TWO warm up features on the s 9, and I was using the wrong one..

so, Im kind of excited! My husband said.. OH its just like Christmas for you! ( You can only imagine the look I gave him)

Please let us know if that makes marks around the face or leaks, etc you will be our happy tester. Thanks a lot for the information. Hope all will be great with the mask and you will finally find the dreamed one. I'm still seeking for it but I'm fairly new on this business.

Whoa, that's one SERIOUS MASK, Elena! I'll be interested to hear how it goes at night.

Kind of remind me of those facial masks. With the way you turn up the heat and humidity, you will have the most gorgeous skin in the world

I will let you know how it goes! yep, I might have that sucker cranked up, and the polly wogs will be swimming upstream in that hose!

At least this mask can act like an aquarium.. I could even keep little gold fish in there!

Oh wait I know! I have been wanting to get a beta fish, now I have the perfect place for it!

That sure is allot of mask! I hope it works out great and you benefit with your treatment. If things kinda go south, you might consider reselling it to a deep-sea diving company!!!

Elena, please let us all know what you think of that total face mask once you've tried it for a few nights. I'm curious if the air movement will bother your eyes and if it holds a good seal all night long.

Please share about the correct humidifier settings. Which setting were you using improperly, and which is the correct setting? That may help some other people here who have reported that their H5i humidifier isn't heating properly.

Okay, I logged two and half hours last night....

My husband set the humidifier, while I had the mask on, I put my head on the pillow, and... UM, gee, its sort of hard to breath!
Now, I know what they are talking about.. that suffocating feeling at too low a pressure? mmmm, geez louise, this isnt
so good... then I realize, HE didnt turn the machine ON! OMG!.... so Im laying there sucking wind...
I turned it on, and, oh boy, I got some air.. yahoo!

it really wasnt that bad.. had a few leaks, the straps had to be pretty tight, but that didnt bother me like I thought it was because
of the way the straps are designed...

The pressure got up to 16.5

I dont how the heck that happened? maybe a leak... but even at that pressure, my nasal pillows would be blowing into my skull,
but I didnt feel any pressure with this mask..

so I would say its a good high pressure mask.. I didnt try to read or anything last night, just went to bed, was really tired..
the new heated hose worked great.. I will report back more, gonna be gone for the day..

Worst leaks were at my fuzzy temples I plan to figure this out and try to make it work, so the fact that I didnt rip it off and toss
across the room like the others is a step in the right direction!

Elena, you said your pressure got up to 16.5? I see in your profile, your pressure is about 9. What is your pressure range? It will be interesting to see if this is a trend.

I have observed autoadjust machines to adjust differently to different masks. I would also suspect that the intentional leak on that mask is quite high due to its volume.

In any case, be worried if you start seeing tall blue people while wearing this mask.

I have the fitlife and like it much better than the full-face (but not total face) masks I have also tried.

As to the leaks around the temples, check to make sure the band that goes over the top of your head is back far enough. For me that often takes care of temple leaks, although occassionally I also have to tighten the forehead bands. Also, if you sleep on your side or stomach, it would be a good ideato use one of the special CPAP pillows that essentially have a cut-out where the mask would usually sit on a pillow.
