Funny Snoring Stories
Funny Snoring Stories
Hi All!
I just joined and am so glad to be part of such a supportive vibrant community. I was thinking that we all might get a laugh if we shared some of the funny snoring stories we experienced before going on our cpaps or bipaps. Humor can be a power medicine indeed!

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Thank you. You are in good company here.
There is humor to be found in any situation, but I bet that's not really why you are here.
Even when snoring presents itself as amusing, if one watches a snorer with apnea at length, you will see them stop breathing many times an hour,
essentially suffocating over and over again; all night long. Just considering the health ramifications can be very disturbing.
We welcome you here; where we share our experiences, and help each other get through this challenge together.

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Jim1122...welcome aboard! We're all glad to be here to share our stories, and some of them are pretty darned funny as you'll find. Just sometimes a little hard to come up with funny stories about some things. But if you have something humorous to share about your snoring I'm sure many of us would love to hear them. I've only been a hosehead now for nearly 2 months but the intellect and helpfulness of this forum has been absolutely invaluable! I promise you'll come up with questions that we've all dealt with and in most cases will have some really good useful solutions to them. So belly up to the bar and enjoy this group because they've bailed me out quite a few times in just 55+ days. I'd still be fighting leaks, wondering how to clean my gear, and trying to figure out software woes if it weren't for these folks. So again, Welcome and look forward to your thoughts on this therapy as you too become an old seasoned veteran of the therapy.

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
I was stumped: couldn't think of any funny snoring--or course the dormouse video could be an exception.

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
OK, I'll start. This isn't about me and my OSA; it's about my daughter. This happened when she was 2 or 3. Her older brother learned how to make snoring noises. He did it at the drop of a hat for weeks. Melissa, of course, picked it up. One day, she was showing me her baby dolls. She stood by one doll in its bed and said, "She's sleeping." Melissa then made a quiet breathing sound. Same thing with the second baby doll. For the third, Melissa made the loudest snoring noise ever. When I asked her why, she said, "This one sleeps louder."
Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Well, a visual would be more humerous than the telling but .....
Back in the days when my daughter was in college she had a job Friday evenings. One cold snowy night I stayed up to make sure she got home all right. When she got home she found me sound asleep on the sofa snoring up a storm. As she tip toed up the stairs she found her Collie laying on her back, feet up against the hall wall - snoring. As she walked past our bedroom door she heard her dad - snoring. When she got in to her room and was going to lay down there was her cat laying on her pillow - snoring. She always says she seriously thought of going out to the barn to sleep - but figured the way things were going she would probably find the horses - snoring.
And, guess what??? She married a man who snores.

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
haha very funny. Here's mine
I was at a music festival in July 2010. I had gone to sleep about 10.30 on the first night and was woken up by a very loud group of festival goers on the tent site next to us. They kept us awake till quite late 2.30ish. After it had quietened down I went back off to sleep snoring very loudly APPARENTLY. The next thing I know is a very bright torch pushing through the side of the tent hitting me in the face. With this guy shouting at me to stop snoring as he couldn't get to sleep and stop sleeping on my back or something. This woke my wife and the rest of the night we dreaded falling asleep in case I was assaulted again! The next morning we were early and made sure that we made quite a ruckus to get revenge. They wouldn't talk to use like other campers and other campers thoroght it was rather funny. They never woke me again but it was a bit of a downer on an otherwise happy festival. A few months later I was diagnosed with sleep Apnea (70 apnias an hour). Now I sleep with CPAP and feel so much better...

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Years ago before I realized I had sleep apnea I was staying at a motel. I remember waking up and that I was snoaring loud but that was not what woke me up, it was the guy in the other room beating on my wall. He must of had problems sleeping but I don'y know why

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
It was in pre-cpap days and my little granddaughter had spent the night. When I woke the next morning she was sitting up in bed beside me with a concerned look on her little face. "Grandma," she asked cautiously, "Why were you growling at me last night?"

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
Was going on a trip with the boss. we get along pretty well. the day before we leave he says hey we can save some money and we can share a hotel room... I said I snore, probably not a good idea (this was pre Cpap) but he relented. saving a few bucks is important to him when someone's watching
So we are on the plane. it's a really early flight and there is a delay so we are waiting on the tarmac in our seats, maybe 45 minutes or so. I dozed off for just long enough for a single snort of a snore to emerge from me, This woke me instantly and when I looked up practically everyone on the pane had turned to look at me, I quickly glanced at my boss next to me and saw the shock fading from his face while he said. "your getting your own room at the hotel."

Re: Funny Snoring Stories
A few years ago, I was in a hotel. I was given a room that could communicate with the one next to it. There was a double set of doors between the two rooms, closed and locked but you could hear through them as if you were in the same room. I noticed that fact when the guy arrived and set down the key on the table. Knowing how loud I snored, I was really embarassed and decided I would just read all night so as not to disturb him. About an hour later, he went to bed and soon was snoring his head off I slept really well that night but between my snoring and the guy next door, the hotel walls probably shook!
