Dear friends,
Do you know if sleep disorder or sleep deprivation cause dizziness/vertigo. I have dizziness problem(sometimes vertigo) and my ENT doctor is saying sleep problem from OSA is the cause. Is there anyone who had/has the same concern and does it have any relation with good sleep at night?
Thank you..

I don't know why that would not be a cause. It causes all sorts of problems (uncontrolled high blood pressure) that can lead to dizziness / vertigo. If you have severe sleep problems, try to get those under control. It will help you feel better and *might* help address that issue as well.
Just a thought ...

Just curious: but how long should a person wait for vertigo to disappear on its own;
before getting your doctor involved?
Or is it more a matter of severity than time?

Re: Sleep deprivation and dizziness/vertigo
I first had severe virtigo when I had a viral infection in my brain...left me with one ear gone deaf and virtigo..sometimes bad, like I can't even stand up and other times just dizzy, but can cope. This was 8 years ago, I'm still deaf in one ear and still have virtigo, but the virtigo since I have been of cpap (2 years) is more bearable (if virtigo is ever bearable) at least I can now cope. I am dizzy most of the time and my balance is way off.......I bump into a lot of walls my friends just grab me before I fall over . My virtigo was not caused by cpap but al least I find it is better ON cpap..I don't know, perhaps I am getting more oxygen and of course lots more sleep, that could be why I am doing better. I only go to the ER or the doctors when it is so bad I can no longer stand up or function, otherwise I just put up with it and have learned to compensatechunkyfrog wrote:Just curious: but how long should a person wait for vertigo to disappear on its own;

Chunkyfrog..to answer your question......in my case it is a matter of severity, not time.
