Good video, thanks Oak.

The really scary thing to me about SD is that it hides itself as other problems. You can start to question yourself on your basic abilities and health, it can really mess with your mental state IMO.

Guessing I'm not the only one who has felt this way?

You better believe it! I thought I was getting Alzheimers as I could not focus or concentrate before CPAP.

It is very easy to explain away the symptoms.

Choking and gasping during the night? Asthma and acid reflux

Lots of bathroom trips at night? Well, I already have lots of bathroom trips during the day.

Nightmares on occasion? Stress

Less energy? not enough hours of sleep and part of getting older, right?

High blood pressure? Crappy diet

I probably knew I had sleep apnea for 10 years or so, but I considered it to be sleep deprivation, and I already get fewer hours of sleep than I should. So, I figured I was coping pretty well with it. I didn't understand that it was oxygen deprivation, and that I was experiencing all kinds of symptoms on a daily basis.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
