Vicks Vapo Pads

I see these and was wanting peoples opinion on them, Would they be safe to place against the filter to clear congestion. I have been sick the past couple nights with severe congestion and thought this would help.?? I also see the liquids, Can you add them to the water?

Do not add ANYTHING t0 your water, especially Vicks... it has petroleum jelly in it and that will harm your mask. It is safe to put it on a small pad and put it behind your air intake though. Many use pursleep products or essential oil to give you a relaxing odor when you go to sleep. Puresleep have one called ":clear" that is really great for unclogging you sinuses. I've put some Vicks VapoRub on a tissue behind my machine near the intake area several times when fighting a cold. Can't imagine what that could hurt.

I like the "Clear" fragrance: a couple drops on a cotton ball,
lying in a short candle holder behind, but not touching the machine.
If the smell is too strong, I slide it away a little.
Distance is your friend--some of these scents can be powerful.
