CPAP pulsing noise heard thru wall

I started using a BiPAP 40 days ago. Recently my neighbor, whose bedroom is adjacent to ours (mirror image) has started complaining that the pulsing sound of the machine keeps them awake.
I have a towel under the machine, so the noise between the machine and the night table it rests on is dampened. I did this before the complaint and never heard any differences.

Is there a "dampening box" I can place over the unit, or will such a device enhance the sound, rather than dampen it?

Any other suggestions?

If your machine is anywhere near as quiet as mine I would not talk in your bedroom or "anything else" since it may disturb your neighbors. May be informative to have them compare the machine sounds to the sound of your snoring in the past.

Move the machine to the other side of the bed, I can't see it making that much noise unless you live in Japan and the wall is a sheet of rice paper. Jim

Sometimes the type of stand can make a difference in how sounds are conducted. Also, if it is at your bed level, it's at their bed level too so lowering it might help, and making sure the table nor the machine actually touch the wall. I used the old style computer mousepads, the thick rubbery ones, under my machine and they were excellent at muffling the sound. I have read on here of people trying all types of soundproofing solutions. As long as there is adequate air flow you should be ok, adhering to any manufacturer warnings of course.

Tell him to stop putting that glass to the wall to listen to your activities or remove the bug they planted. You can't hear my machine from across the room, never mind the next room.

Do you have carpeting or hardwood floors?
Hardwood can transmit sounds quite well.
If hardwood, try placing padding under the table legs.
Make sure the table is not touching the wall - that's another way sound travels.
The mouse pad idea is good suggestion to decouple the machine from the table.

Sounds like you are in a duplex or apartment.
The common wall may not be properly insulated to stop noise.
Can you hear your neighbors talking at night? If you can, they can hear everything you do also.

Careful you don't block any cooling vents which could overheat your machine. Rubber under the table legs is a better idea then a towel under machine.

If you rent, mount it to the wall's surface so you can take it with you when you move, leaving no fasteners.
You could also attach it to the back of a massive headboard with wings behind the end tables.

At home my pump is virtually silent - the mask makes a bit of noise. But on my boat, it sometimes sets up a resonance with a bulkhead that creates a buzzing sound, so I could imagine something nearby like a lamp or a picture that buzzes. Still, if your bedroom walls are that thin, you have other issues to deal with!
