Has the'Breeze' mask been discontinued?

Post by gsbuck » Sun Mar 09, 2014 12:37 pm

My supplier has told me that Puritan-Bennett no longer makes the Breeze mask and that any I've found online are just 'leftovers'. Anyone know anything about this? They sold me a different mask made for women that has the nasal pillows and the hose bunching up at my nose. I cannot fall asleep. Am thinking maybe the Breeze is what I need. Any help?

Thanks, I realize that. But is what cpap.com has in stock only what is left of the Breeze? Or is it still being manufactured?

Good idea. Wonder if they would tell me the truth or not. They probably will just try to sell the Breeze.

why call Puritan-Bennett directly?
To order genuine Puritan Bennett parts, call customer service at 1-888-744-1414.
you might be surprised to find your dme being less than honest

better yet send em an email so you have it in writing

Cpap.com is in business to make money. They will sell you whatever you will buy. If you ask, they will give an honest answer, in my experience. They also have lots of other masks that may be almost as good, if not better, than the one you are looking for. Buy the insurance and you will only be out of pocket a small amount for trying what might be heaven-sent for you. Also, on here you have the benefit of the experience of a LOT of users who are repeat purchasers at cpap.com.

Thanks, but I think I will just go ahead and order the Breeze mask. The Swift "Bella" is irritating to me in the area between the nose and mouth...so much so that it takes forever to fall asleep. I'm thinking the Breeze will take care of that and won't irritate.

I did call Covidien, the company that bought Puritan Bennett, and they advised that they have stopped making the Breeze mask, and it has not been replaced by a new model. Bad news! Other mask companies need to make one similar to the Breeze!

Sad news for Breeze lovers..it is going the way of the Aeomed Headrest...so Breeze lovers need to stock up while they can.
Eventually online inventory will be sold off and no way to replace it. So get them while you can if you don't want to have to change masks anytime soon.

When I first saw the thread, I was concerned. I've used the Breeze for nearly 8 years now. I have yet to find a mask that works as well for me. I emailed Covidien about this. The email was routed to the current ventilation product manager at Covidien, who very promptly replied with the following:

"That item is our part number Y-101400-00 for reference and I am currently working with manufacturing to keep it active in production.
I will try to remember to send you another update when I hear more from manufacturing. You are welcome to reach out to me directly again if you haven’t heard anything in a few weeks. It will take some time to work through the plan with manufacturing. I believe we will continue to manufacture the products you are using for some time."

Two follow-up questions of mine were answered the same day. One dealt with my posting the replies here and generating support. The response:

"...so the best referral is to provide the link to the Covidien website request you utilized, as that will always be monitored and routed to the appropriate person, which may be different depending on the request. Directing others to follow the same process you used and indicating it is a process that works so others understand it’s not a waste of their time would be helpful to the community I imagine. I am glad you reached out and we made contact as it has helped reinforce my efforts to keep this product line active."

I would suggest that if you are a Breeze user that you email the company and express an interest in keeping the Breeze in production. The link I used is: http://www.%20covidien%20.com/rms/sales-support/general-inquiry-form

Bookbear, the link does not work. Thanks for the interest, though. What was the date you emailed, and the response email date? I hope they are able to keep it manufactured.
