How do you clean your heated hose?

I know this is a hashed and rehashed subject, but board searches have not helped me
.
I used to wash my old "Aussie" heated hose by pouring water in the non- electric end, making the hose into a circle with a two ended adaptor and sloshing.

I guess it's the same deal with the newfangled heated hoses which attach directly into the xpap machine?

There's no safer way?

Here is what Respironics has to say on the subject:

Cleaning Instructions: Heated Tubing

Clean the heated tubing before first use and weekly. Heated Tubing is single patient multi-use.
1. Disconnect the heated tubing from the heated humidifier. Refer to the “Disconnecting the Optional Heated Tubing” section earlier in this manual.
2. Gently wash the heated tubing in a solution of warm water and a mild detergent.
CAUTION: Avoid submerging the Humidifier Connector End of the heated tubing in water.
Note: If the Humidifier Connector End of the tubing does get wet during the cleaning process, be sure to thoroughly rinse all soap residue from the connector and air dry before the next use.
3. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Make sure the tubing is dry before use.
4. Inspect the heated tubing for damage or wear (cracking, crazing, tears, punctures, etc.). Discard and replace if necessary

In spite of what the Respironics manual said, I put the entire hose in a tub of dish soap/vinegar water and soak for 20 minutes or so, then put it in a new tub of tap water to rinse, swishing it around. Then I empty the tub and shake the hose over the shower floor first holding onto one end and then the other. I dry each end with a dish towel and then a hose clip at one end allows me to hang it from the shower head or a wall hook to dry. This is all done within an hour of getting up in the morning so it is always dry by the time I go to bed. If I'm in doubt about it being dry, I hook it up to the machine and let the blower dry it.

I pour a little (non-scented) dish detergent in one end, then fill it around half full of water, holding both ends up. Then I raise and lower each end alternately, until the water almost reaches each end, back and forth a few times, to let the water/soap slosh back and forth. I empty it, then hold the non-electrical-contact end to my sink faucet, and flush it out with lukewarm water.

I submerge everything in mild soap, and I use a hurricane dryer.

It seems it's not a disaster if the electrical connection gets wet, as long as you let it dry out thoroughly before using it - even by using a hairdryer.

Yeah, it'll only hurt something if it gets electricity while it's still wet. As long as you make sure it's really dry it won't hurt it to get it wet.

You do this daily????? And then you hang it in the most germ filled room in the house to dry???
