Buyer Beware BBB Rates Cpap.com with an F
BBB rates CPAP.com with an "F" (the worst rating) for a reason. I purchased all my equipment from there, and things were fine until they weren't. They don't want to honor defective items. Instead, they'll ask that you replace what can be replaced, then Adjust the machine to the point where it doesn't do what you paid for it to du (apap, auto pressure adjustments)
When it wakes you up more than helps because it blows so hard it hurts, and the only thing you can do is reset it, well then they will tell you since it's under warranty they'll have a look but only if you pay to ship it. And unless you shell out $170.00- for a rental, you will be without your medical CPAP or APAP machine for as long as it takes, and the $170 is a recurring fee.
So I was not shocked to see the BBB rates this company with it's lowest possible rating. "F" not, A, not B, not C, not D, not E, BUT CPAP.COM IS RATED BY BBB AN "F" I thought some of you would like to know before making a decision.

We already knew about the rating and Johnny Goodman has explained in the past why he refuses to bow down and kiss butt to the BBB and buy a rating. It's been mentioned here on the forum in the past. No earth shattering news there coming from you.
Machine policy for warranty work is clearly stated in the policy for selling machines and dealing with possible warranty issues...that's not new either. Nothing has changed. They didn't change the rules on you...you just didn't read the rules ahead of time or if you read them you didn't understand them.
I get it you are unhappy but blasting cpap.com here isn't the way to handle things.

The BBB basically runs an extortion racket. Perhaps once they were a valuable source of consumer information, but their ratings now only really tell you whether the business in question has payed them off. I put no stock whatsoever in BBB ratings.

I'm going to find their Yelp page and give them a bad review.
Edit - looks like the entire internet has already done that.

And they provided various renovators here with an A (maybe it meant Awful) that walked of the job with projects half done and the suppliers unpaid.

You're obviously a clueless IDIOT when it comes to knowledge about how auto-adjusting CPAP machines work.Robert Joseph wrote:BBB rates CPAP(dot)com with an "F" (the worst rating) for a reason. And, the same when it comes to the BBB.
CPAP(dot)COM is a "class act" with everything they do.

I hate to say it but the old adage "the customer is always right" went up in flames when entitlement attitudes and grandiose displays of emotion were rewarded by businesses unfortunately too many suffer from a lack of personal responsibility, common sense, intelligence and manners when something does not perform the way we think it should its always someone elses fault NOT because we misunderstood, misused or abused the non performing k'nootin valve or what not its MUCH EASIER to bitch and moan and point fingers { and DEMAND them $$$$$$$$'s back } sorry to blow off just tired of this prevalent attitude TTFN

My guess is the machine is doing what it is designed to do and you don't understand the process.Robert Joseph wrote:

Very few sleep medicine practices offer good training and support to patients, especially new patients. Then companies like cpap.com are faulted when the clueless patient has trouble using what was prescribed.
The solution for you is to read, read, read and study posts in cpaptalk.com and ask questions, questions, questions. Get yourself educated on the CPAP process and become a successful user.
Fill out your equipment profile and tell us some details about your diagnosis and your prescribed machine settings.

You guys are very cruel. Is there no compassion for the buyer? How is it that everyone knows it’s the buyer’s fault! CPAP.com is never wrong? So the buyer has to know what he is doing...OK. Read his post....he has been doing business with CPAP.com before. Something is wrong. Something is not being said. What is it?

Robert Joseph,
Unfortunately, it is the companies who dictate the warranty policy, not cpap.com. At least a few years ago (don't know if anything has changed), Resmed was automatically replacing defective machines.
Unfortunate, DevilBiss was not which I found out when I thought I had a problem with my machine. Let's just say I protested because I too thought it was unfair to be without a machine for that long. Fortunately, I PMd Carolyn Goodman, who was very understanding and it turned my problem was "user error" which of course made me feel like an idiot. But cpap.com was very professional and understanding. Definitely not deserving of a low rating.
Anyway, you might want to PM her to see what can be done to get a machine more quickly. I agree that it is totally unreasonable to expect someone to be without a machine for up to 6 weeks. But again, keep in mind that is the policy of the manufacturers and not cpap.com.
Your post is a perfect example of why anyone who buys a machine online should verify with the company ahead of time exactly what the warranty policy is. Of course, that isn't something you routinely think to do since the chances of your machine failing are quite slim. But better safe than sorry.

Pesser, I have to agree. I like this board in many ways but for some reason on certain issues and especially when it comes to cpap.com, when someone posts on this board, you have a guilty until proven innocent attitude. Yes Kaisgram, I stole that phrase from you on another post to make my point.Pesser wrote:You guys are very cruel. Is there no compassion for the buyer? Anyway, I had to chime in and I hope this doesn't cause me to get flamed for saying this.
