Apex XT Fit Travel CPAP, Anyone have one?
Hi all,
In my never-ending quest for a light and small travel machine that doesn't have a power brick, I'm looking at the Apex line. $189 for the low end simple CPAP. Seems pretty good. But no reviews I can find. Anyone bought one? What do you think?

If you are planning on camping, realize this machine requires a dedicated power inverter,

The only advice I can give you is do your homework.remstarcpap wrote:Hi all,

Do some Google searches on "Apex XT Fit CPAP machine" and read. Do a forum search on "Apex" and you'll find some posts but not alot about the machine.

Not camping, that's a whole 'nother enchilada!
Is this basically the same as the The Zzz-Pap Silent Traveler ? It has good reviews on Cpap.com, although many said it was loud (so much for "Silent Traveler" and a number of people said it tended to get hot when off since the off switch doesn't shut down the internal power.

There is some indication that the model is discontinued.
I also went to the manufacturers web page and the link to documentation is broken.
If you get one, its likely there will be no tech support for the unit.

I went to the Apex web page and everything is working so not sure what you meant by the documentation is broken.
In any case, anyone have a ZZZZpap and have an opinion on it for travel?

Re: Apex XT Fit Travel CPAP, Anyone have one?
I have two of these, 1 for travel, and 1 as my primary machine at home. I have been using it since 2009. I love it! Quiet, tiny, portable. I just ordered another one since the two I have are wearing out, and starting to make funny noises. 5 years is pretty good quality in my book, and the typical warranty period for many CPAP machines.
Re: Apex XT Fit Travel CPAP, Error code?
I JUST PLUGGED IN MY APEX XT Fit and the screen is flashing EUR 1.2
Does anyone know what that means and how to turn it off and start the machine?

Re: Apex XT Fit Travel CPAP, Anyone have one?
I have the exact same unit as spare and travel machine. I posted a short review on another thread. I'll just repost it here for your easy reference.
1. Footprint of the unit is fantastic! Very small, portable and doesn't occupy so much space of your night table. It doesn't have any power adapter. Power cord directly connects to the machine. So it's light and easy to carry. Came with a travel bag which looks like a camera bag.
2. Tinkering with the menu was fairly easy and straightforward. A few searches at the apnea board taught me how to enter the clinician setup to change the pressure settings, among others.
3. Quietness of the machine was kinda weird. True to most of the reviews I've read, it had a very faint whirling sound coming from the machine when I set it up with Max pressure at 7cm to 8cm. It was not troubling or too bothersome but, it was there. When I bumped it up to 11cm to 13cm, the whirling sound from the machine disappeared but a faint whistling sound can be heard from the hose area. I tried tinkering with the pressures and laid down for a good 30 to 45 minutes trying several different pressures and settings. I also turned of ramp. But, again, it was there.
4. Actual use - I had a hard time admittedly. At 7cm, I had a hard time inhaling and exhaling. Bumped it up to 11 up, then 12cm to 13cm and inhaling became a lot easier but exhaling was soo very hard. I felt like choking. It was probably due to the fact that my main machine supports clfex or known as exhale pressure relief on resmeds. Others have suggested that you can get used to it by trying out your travel machine at home from time to time.
Hope this helps.

Great description of the machine, but I guess even in heaven they don't have an answer to charley's question.egzbuen wrote:I have the exact same unit as spare and travel machine. I posted a short review on another thread. I'll just repost it here for your easy reference.
