Chinstrap/head gear too tight causing headache

Post by Amers605 » Wed Nov 12, 2014 2:12 pm

I wear a ruby style chinstrap. Last night my head started throbbing. I tried to sleep, but I just could not take the pain. So I did not use cpap last night. I am trying to figure out why my head hurt so much. I tried loosing the chinstrap and headgear, but it did not help. Now my head still hurts. Really need to use cpap, but I am worried that all this stuff on my head is hurting my head and neck.

1. Do you get dry mouth at night?
2. Is there any pain in your neck?
3. Are you sleeping with your head or neck in an abnormal position because of the gear you are wearing?

I never knew a chinstrap to cause headaches. Can you loosen the chinstrap and headgear a bit?

Have you tried FFMs? Chinstraps can't deal with small 'lip leaks' anyway, and FFMs do. Ruby's are known to be effective in keeping your jaw closed, but hard to wear for reasons you've had.
