P10 exhale issues??????

Seems to me that if I use a humidity setting of 4 or 5, that the mesh exhaust ports block up after a while and I can't exhale.

Since I have 2 P10 outfits, I'll just change to the other P10.

Then when I wash them, it seems to return to functioning properly again and stays ok as long as I keep the humidity at 3 or below.

I like the extra moisture that 4 brings but don't know if that's possible anymore.

It may be that I washed them in a too hot a water (to rinse them) and damaged them a while back. Don't know for sure if that's had anything to do with it.

In the meanwhile, I've order a new P10. Should arrive Wednesday or so.

Anyone else have experience with this that they could share?

I have been using the same P10 unit for about 16 months now (have changed out the straps and pillows, but not the frame with the mesh) with no clogging, although I can understand it getting clogged -- that is a very small mesh.

I wash the mesh with mild soap (Dawn or Baby Shampoo) weekly in warm water.

Do you have a heated hose? Perhaps you are having condensation in the mask that is clogging the mesh. A heated hose helps control that. (I use one of those)

If you already have one, and it still appears like it might be condensation you might check with Pad-a-check and see if they have a barrel cozy for that mask. That can also reduce condensation.

I have never had that happen with my P10 and I always use a maximum amount of humidity but I do use a heated hose because if I didn't there would be a good chance of my getting rain out in the mask itself.
I don't wash any of my gear in water that is too hot for my hands...and I hand wash everything (when I wash it which isn't all that often).

Do you have the heated hose for your machine?

No heated hose involved and I don't let the room get below 72 degrees.

The new P10 showed up today. I went ahead and hooked it up to the CPAP and I could tell that I'm getting more air exhausting the woven frame piece than the other two.

Thought I'd google the P10 cleaning instructions. They say to clean it daily. How often do you clean yours?

I don't clean mine very often, but I do give an eyeball at the mesh now and then, or feel the airflow to get an idea...

I think the gentle daily scrubbing is somewhat CYA.

though, I have heard of one person that said theirs got clogged up completely, and was ok after a scrubbing with a toothbrush.
