OT: Size Tag on Levi Jeans

Post by Susie Kay » Sun Jun 14, 2015 3:24 pm

I hope no one objects to this post on a lazy, summer, Sunday evening. I do see a lot of OT posts here by others and they are commented on by many.

This became a bit of an extended family debate this afternoon. With some saying the tag stays on and others saying it should come off before the jeans are worn. (I never thought about it before, but you are advertising your pants size to the world.)

What do you think? In practice, do you wear it or take it off?

I wear it and leave it on. My waist size does fluctuate, and the tag helps me pick out the best fit.

Since I am a bit of a pac rat, I have to leave it on so I can easily distinguish between my 28 waist and my 48 waist jeans while they are still on the hanger.
Anyone who gets close enough to read that label is just an a** kisser anyway.

Isn't there a label inside the pants? Or is that just the other brands?
Classic Levi's had a real leather tag. Then you left it on.
If your back fat hangs over the tag, it's still not an issue.

If your grandkids (or great grand kids) want to sell them as vintage Levi's some day they will get more money for them if the tag is still on them.

it's clearly stitched so as to stay, if it were meant to be removed, it wouldn't be securely stitched on all four sides.

I newer paid any attention to it before, just wore them. I just checked mine out, it said: Meant to be worn by one person at a time, one of you needs to get out!

It's a wonder it didn't say, "Objects wearing these pants, may appear fatter that normal!" Jim

Funny that I never noticed the size is on a tag that I considered permanent. The last time I remember wearing my top tucked into my jeans was in the 90's. That tag sits in an area I keep well covered, in the delusion that folks have no idea what's really under there. I know someone who cuts the tags out of her clothes because she couldn't bear looking at those XL tags. Pretty bad when you try to fool even yourself.

I usually cut the tags out of my shirts because they ITCH!
I have even cut a hole to remove an itchy label printed on the fabric. {{{Whose idea was that?}}}
I save the label to remind me what not to buy next time.

Curious, but who reads the label the jeans? I know it its there on all of them, but don't recall actually reading them. Most are faded so you couldn't read them now anyway.

Well, you would have been in the majority on my back deck Sunday. But we had two slim, teen, female fashionistas who take the labels off and think the rest of us are out of it.
