battery pack for m series

Post by vigna2 » Wed Jul 12, 2006 7:14 am

i would like see a lithium ion battery pack for m series like AEIOMEDS Everest cpap which is lot more convenient and works just like in a laptop rather than the lead battery pack of respironics and cost is also prohibitive at $400 !!!

I have just received my new m series auto form cpap.com!
After discovering that there was no clinician's manual packed in with the user manual, I called to see if this was an error. I was told that, as a purchaser, I am only to receive what the manufacturer packs! When I related to him that I was under the impression that cpap.com advertises to send "all manuals" with any machine, the gentleman told me I would need to take that up with Respironics!
He did add that I could buy the clinician manual from them for 14.95, plus shipping!

Bottom line- Are all machines being sent out from cpap.com with user manuals only now?

I'm very confused by this, if it's true. Cpap.com has always been a patient advocate, and by not supplying the clinician manual really flies in the face of their past direction of supplying ALL the included products from the manufacturer. What gives? And then to include it for a separate charge is incorigible. Tell me it's not true.

Paul, that was kinda my thinking, too!
Perhaps they have changed policy recently ? (Or, maybe I was given the wrong information?)
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Before you go jumping all over our hosts, the OBVIOUS explanation is that Respironics has changed THEIR policies and are only packaging the USERS manual in what they consider to be a "consumer pack", which is what they are sending to CPAP.com, and other internet-based dealers, no doubt. I'm sure that they have a "professional pack" that goes to brick and mortar DMEs, or maybe they supply the Clinician's manual separately to DMEs.

Perhaps they allow CPAP.com and other inetrnet-based resellers to purchase the clinician's manual from them for resale purposes. So, what do you want CPAP.com to do? Buy it from Respironics and then give it out, out of the goodness of their hearts???

Respironics is a bidness like ResMed is, and they want to turn a buck. And, they want to court the DME market, NOT the end-user market. They JUST DON'T CARE about consumer sales through resellers.

Face it.

Did you get the name of the guy who told you this? I hope it's a mistake. I mean, in light of everyone's outrage over the whole Resmed debacle, I find it hard to believe cpap.com would voluntarily decide to start charging $15.00 for the clinician's manual. Unless... they HAVE TO because of some new policy from Respironics. That would really stink.

Have you tried sending Johnny or Titrator a PM to find out if what you were told is correct? Please let us know what you find out!

Sorry to give you the impression that I was "jumping all over the hosts." Certainly not my intent!
I simply am trying to find out if anyone else had this same experience.
I honestly thought all pap machines sold by cpap.com came with all manuals, clinician as well as user. This is my first machine from them, perhaps I am misunderstanding previous information. I do know that when I placed this order, I was quite specific about asking if I needed to order any additional items separately. The only additional items I was told about that I might possibly want were the two types of extra filters. I ordered both sets! Sure wish the rep would have told me about the clinician's manual then!
Misunderstandings happen all the time. No biggie.
It is just surprising to me that ,after spending over $1000.00 for this top of the line setup, I will have to go back and order a manual.

Good info, Snoredog. Having previously purchased only a Resmed product (Spirit,) I thought all machines came with the two manuals.
Do you know what types of info. I would be missing out on by not purchasing the clinician manual?

Thanks, Chase and Snoredog!
I did indeed find a setup card packed in with my machine. I am about to go now and engage in the attempt. I also plan to upload the software in order to read the smartcard after my first few nights. I'm very curious to "see" what the results will look like!
Thanks again!

If it didn't come with the clinician's manual, did you receive enough information to allow you to change the pressure ranges, c-flex setting, etc.?

Guest, yes, that info is specified on the set-up card.
