Cpap compliance report

Post by Boostgsr00 » Mon Oct 19, 2015 11:06 pm

Hello everyone,
I just need to know how to obtain a cpap compliance report for my machine. I am currently using a Phillips respironics Remstar Auto A flex with an SD card. I have tried the dream mapper app, but cannot see any useful information. Has anyone had any experiences with Apria or any medical facilities that would be willing to take the SD card and make a report since they might have the software to do so? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can print a report from Sleepyhead. But you will need to know if that is acceptable to whoever is asking for it. When my insurance wanted a compliance report before paying, the DME mailed me a new card and had me mail in the used card. They provided the report to the insurance company. When my mom needed a compliance report for her new machine, the doctor checked the card and reported it to medicare.

You will probably need to ask if they will accept a report directly from you, or whether you are required to have it done by the doctor or DME.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Why are you asking?
Usually, DME (equipment providers) like Apria check the compliance for insurance purposes (like that's the way they get paid for the equipment), so typically, that would be one of the things they do anyway.

But, there's free software "Sleepyhead" that you could get and download your own SD card and monitor your own therapy.
It was developed by one of the forum members.

I am asking because I am in the process of getting a Dot medical card for a job opportunity. The doctor gave me a card good for only 30 days unless I show her a printed compliance report for at least the last 30 days of use. After I give her the report than she can certify me for a year. I currenty also do not have any health insurance so I am trying to obtain the report for the lowest cost possible. I will also try the sleep head link that you included in your post. Thanks.

If you don't really need a report, you can monitor yourself with the DreamMapper chart - compliance is the number of days with 4 hours usage divided by the total number of days in the period. They'll probably want a 30-day range.

But yeah, get Sleepyhead.

I would print the report using sleepyhead AND take the machine with you to the doctor and show them the data onscreen. They can verify that they have seen your machine and can confirm the serial number as well for their records.

Thanks everyone for the advice and suggestions. I just downloaded the sleepy head software and imported all my usage from my SD card. I can clearly see all the information on the report including graphs. I will print and submit my report to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully everything will be fine. Thanks again to the Cpap communtity for taking the time out to help a fellow user. Peace.
