Remzzz liners
Remzzz liners
Hi
I am still struggling with leaks my AHI is averaging about 10 which is down from about 25 before cpap. The hospital changed my pressure from 4-12 to a fixed pressure of 10 last week but my AHI went straight back up to over 20. They have now put me back to previous variable pressure. I have ordered some remzzzz liners, anyone any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have also ordered a cpap designed pillow. I go back to hospital on 3rd december.
It is early days for me and I am adjusting well to wearing the mask and even at 10 AHI I feel some benefit but I am determined to do everything I can to reduce them further
Thanks ian

Re: Remzzz liners
P's I was initially told my apnoea was more central than obstructive, but the data from machine has shown that I do have obstructive and hyponea and only 0.2 of my AHI are central
Re: Remzzz liners
Several members do use Renzzz liners. I started off using them and they did keep the air from blowing in my eyes. I moved to PadaCheek liners for their ease in use. They are fitted on the mask and only removed when washing needed. Both liners did stop the leaks for me.

Re: Remzzz liners
I never take off my mask at night, so Remzzz work very well on my face, plus they reduce sweating since they are pure baby jersey cotton... super comfy and soft.
I reuse Remzzz for several nights and then toss the used ones in a pile (see last paragraph about my quick nightly alcohol cleaning). About every two months I wash them all with hot water and soap, rinse them, then pat them dry with a dish towel. Semi-wet I place them flat on a few large clean dinner plates and let them dry for an afternoon anywhere that is warm. That's the trick to keeping them from curling up. Next when they are dry, I take them off the plates, I re-smooth them into a semi-flat form and stack them up on top of each other. No ironing needed. If I use one for more than six months sometimes they get a little thin, therefore I buy another 30 pack of new ones. After all they are just thin baby jersey you can buy in any fabric store. I use a Sharpie to mark the corners so I can tell approximately how long I've used them. Cotton is very soothing on my face and I never get any skin eruptions.
EDIT: Every morning after using a single Remzzz, I splash it with a little grain or rubbing alcohol making sure it's slightly wet and then I put it in a little bowl on my night-table to let the alcohol evaporate. That's all the sterilization or cleaning I do to my used Remzzz on nightly basis. So every morning I have a fresh Remzzz ready to go. After about five days of that they go into my 'dirty' pile for a soap and very hot water washing, as I mentioned above... this helps shrink them and eliminate stretching. For the soapy washing I do about twenty or so at a time.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Re: Remzzz liners
sir nodoff how much does it cost for a thirty pack? I am awaiting a sample of Remzzz liners to see if they help with my leaks and overall comfort.

Re: Remzzz liners
I just tried them so far I like them no more red breaking out lines on my face. You can get more than one use out of them but after these are done I will look at getting the washable pads.
Buy them on line if you can they are much cheaper then getting them from a DME.

Re: Remzzz liners
Forgive me for the stupid question, but are these (and the Padacheek liners) universal? I keep seeing specific mask models listed on them, so I'm unclear whether they'll work with my mom's mask. Do they just list those models as examples?

Re: Remzzz liners
Liners are model specific generally...though one liner might work with 2 similar models...get the liner that goes with the mask as they are NOT universal.sleepylynn wrote:Forgive me for the stupid question, but are these (and the Padacheek liners) universal? What mask is it that your mom uses? Someone donated a few Remzzzs liners and they are brand new.
I can check to see if they will work with your mom's mask. I don't remember off hand which mask they went to.

Re: Remzzz liners
Finally got the mask packaging from her today, and it's a Quattro Air. But I'll have to hold off on the liners, because she's going to try to get them to let her try a different mask model.
I think part of her problem is that her doctor told her she HAS to wear a ffm because she breathes through her mouth frequently at night. They never gave her the option to try anything else, but she's a side sleeper, so the ffm is uncomfortable for her. Then add the fact that they didn't explain how the masks work - she's been cinching the mask down tighter and tighter to try to get rid of leaks, and it's (of course) causing face pain. Total fiasco. I've been trying to explain why that's not going to work (and showing her mask fitting directions online) but I do think the mask just isn't the right thing for her.
Her DME keeps telling her that they're not sure if her insurance will approve her trying another mask style, and I don't know why. They do want her to remain compliant, right?? So frustrating.
And...sorry to turn this into an off-topic rant.

Re: Remzzz liners
That's okay...the liner I have I don't know if it will fit the Quattro Air...I found the package and there's just one Remzzzs liner in it and it is a S1-FS so Small Full Face. It doesn't list the Quattro Air but does list the Quattro which I assume is the original...I don't know enough about FFM to know if it would still work or not.sleepylynn wrote:Finally got the mask packaging from her today, and it's a Quattro Air. They look similar to me but then don't remember if the cushion is all that different or not. I know the mask frame is totally different.

Re: Remzzz liners
I think she'll have to go back up to a medium size anyway. She has a small cushion now (she thought that would solve the leaks) but it's leaving bruises on her cheeks.
Thanks for the offer, though - hopefully they'll come in handy for someone else.
