CPAP with an alarm that notifies you if you take it off?

Post by Omahajim » Thu Mar 31, 2016 9:13 pm

hi. I have a big problem with taking the mask off in the middle of thenight. I wake up in the morning and I feel awful and the whole day is just awful.

who makes a CPAP with a leak/off alarm? my resmed S9 will light up the display to notify you. but that does nothing for me.

does anybody have a suggestion?

thanks!

Jim

I don't have a list, but in the meanwhile, you can put tape across the straps and your face,
So you will FEEL it when your sleepy self tries to de-mask.
If tape pulling skin does not work, get a bit of HAIR under it.

Philips/Respironics does.

From their System One 60 Series manual:

Mask alert - on off

Problem is, many people sleep through those, too. If you take your mask off and turn your machine off at the same time, it's not going to alert you very long.
The trick is to train yourself NOT to take it off. Many of us went through that stage early on in our therapy, too.

Anybody got an alarm for when you carefully strap the mask on your face and then go to sleep without actually attaching the hose to the mask? I've done this twice now.

I suppose there's no cure for stupid... sigh

why is the hose disconnected?

look at your processes, determine where it's failing, and change it so that it can't fail in that spot.
