I use a Respironics Trilogy Ventilator non-invasively and it only records ventilation data such as tidal volume, respiration rate, etc,. It does not record sleep AHI data such as Obstructive Apnea or Hypopnea and is not compatible with SleepyHead.
I used to own a Resmed Aircurve 10 BiPAP but I had to return it to the DME when I received the Trilogy.
I do not have OSA but I do have a lot of hypopneas (I was titrated once on a bi-level machine about 1.5 years ago). My hypoventilation is adequately treated with AVAPS (variable IPAP targeting an average desired volume) but I would like to first see how many hypopneas I am having, and then adjust the IPAP min value until they are more or less resolved. I want to do this because when I use my recordable Pulse Ox I am spending a bit of time in the night under 90% SpO2 and I am positive it's because of hypopneas that are not being prevented. My basal/base SpO2 when not having events is 94-95%.
Is it possible to borrow/rent a biPAP?

You should be asking a local DME. Mine will do short-term rentals and even offered if I ever get in a jam, they would let me borrow a machine.Matt00926 wrote:Is it possible to borrow/rent a biPAP?

Hypopneas are events that determine OSA...If you have "lots" of them, you may have OSA.

Ah yeah part of the AHI-index, but on two sleep studies I've had zero OA's, with and without PAP therapy applied, only hypopneas which are partial obstructions. Previously it took an IPAP of 20cmH2O to resolve all sleep disordered breathing (hypopneas). I want to dial down the exact number I need currently.LSAT wrote:Hypopneas are events that determine OSA...If you have "lots" of them, you may have OSA.

It appears you can actually rent a CPAP or Bi-level device on our host's website...$150 for a month

cpap.com is the forum host.
Re: Is it possible to borrow/rent a biPAP?
I'm guessing that a better plan would be to contact your sleep doctor or pulmonologist to schedule a new sleep study using a Trilogy to get accurate settings.
