CPAP Travel Case
For my upcoming international flight (first time) I am looking for a good case for my System One. The case that came with it is junk, and all I can find for sure is this one by Respironics, which is perfect but is also $85: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFwh7loGTNo
Anyone have any other options/ideas/experience?

Re: CPAP Travel Case
Why do you need a sturdy case? Cpaps are a FREE carry-on.

Re: CPAP Travel Case
I am not checking it - I will be carrying on. However, I will have to haul it through security, on and off the plane, into the overhead, out of the overhead, around my stopover at the airport, etc... seems like it's likely to get bounced around. I'd just like to have the peace of mind of not worrying about it banging into stuff...
Re: CPAP Travel Case
I don't see what advantage the briefcase has over the carrying case, as far as carrying cases I think the Resmed case is pretty nice. I got a backpack because I'm short and putting stuff on my shoulders doesn't work all that well. The backpack I got is this one, but I think a lot of the camera type cases work. Seems very well-made, fits the Airsense and a few other things (extra cord, etc). I like orange but that's just me. http://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Organi ... s=backpack

I travel for work regularly and put the PRS1 (with case) inside a rolling backpack. Add my laptop, iPad, chargers, etc. and I'm good to go with a single carry-on. Never had an issue.

because the *RESPIRONICS* case is crap, maybe 1/8th of an inch padding, it's just a bag to put the thing in, no structure or anything. it's 85$ to get something like what resmed includes with purchase.jonny515 wrote:I don't see what advantage the briefcase has over the carrying case, as far as carrying cases I think the Resmed case is pretty nice.

As I recall it's a pretty roomy bag... maybe you could get a few extra pieces of packing foam or bubble wrap and just add that to the mix. Should be plenty of padding unless you're in the middle of a rugby scrum.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

it's also a really good idea to take the two halves apart, so that you're not pulling and stretching on that joint.Sir NoddinOff wrote:As I recall it's a pretty roomy bag... maybe you could get a few extra pieces of packing foam or bubble wrap and just add that to the mix. both the resmed and travel respironics bags have separate compartments for each piece... the resmed swaps the position, so that the smooth 'outside' faces of the equipment come together in the bag, with padding in between.

I use a Lowpro Magnum 200AW camera bag when traveling with my System One machine.
It's somewhat bulky because photographers take NO chances with their cameras, so it will REALLY protect your System One machine.
I've never dared fate by using this as a checking bag, but as a carryon it's first rate:

Re: CPAP Travel Case
From my professional adventure/travel writer days of yore, I've still got a similar Lowepro bag that has a backpack setup included. It's super padded and roomy. I don't do much professional photography these days and kind of forgot I have it! I think I will put my 35mm cameras and lens in a cardboard box and steal that bag for my CPAP stuff. Thanks, good idea calusa... I agree, I never had a problem using it as airline carry-on since that's what photographers do all the time. Tip: don't plaster photograpy or CPAP gear tags all over that bag... That's inviting theft in a lot of countries, possibly from airline staff in the more dodgy areas of the world.calusa wrote:I use a Lowpro Magnum 200AW camera bag when traveling with my System One machine.

Re: CPAP Travel Case
I was thinking that some kind of camera bag would be perfect for the CPAP. Good protection and lots of size options. I have an old one somewhere I'm going to dig up. Your 200AW seems like more than I would want to spend if buying one though. I would think you could find a decent one second hand somewhere what with everyone using their phones for photos these days.calusa wrote:I use a Lowpro Magnum 200AW camera bag when traveling with my System One machine.

Re: CPAP Travel Case
I'll be using the camera bag I bought pretty soon, so I'll see how much I like it. It looks more padded than the Resmed case (that actually seems pretty good in terms of padding). It's going to be easier to carry being a backpack, but somewhat more trouble to pack. I figured I will need a plastic bag to put the hose in.

the resmed case slips over the handle of your carryon, quite nicely, and makes it really easy to carry.jonny515 wrote:. It's going to be easier to carry f
