Anyone tried to make a DIY CPAP friendly pillow?

Post by DaisySmith » Tue May 03, 2016 7:34 pm

I am using a Dreamwear mask and while it is fairly compact I still feel like I'm smashing the hose into the pillow (I use a memory foam contoured pillow). I looked on Amazon and they have nothing under $50. I wonder how hard it would be to make one somehow...has anyone tried?

I made a buckwheat hull filled pillow. I love it. I also made a soft colorful pillow case for it. I cannot imagine going back to a regular feather pillow.

It is not hard to make a bag with a zipper on one end. It would be a pretty simple project if you have a sewing machine.

Go ahead what do you have to lose??

Good luck,

Karen

My slasher days are behind me.....for now.
...........and those pillows did work very well.

I discovered these

at Costco on sale one day. I got one. I ran back and got 2 more I like
them so much. These are great cpap pillow....for me. YMMV...as always.

I was thinking of carving some areas out of my existing memory foam pillow. How did it work for you?>

My DIY cpap pillow consists of a pillow case and a folded up bath towel. The folded towel is just the right thickness to hold my head level and keep my spine straight(ish) and the edge firm enough so that I'm still supported while the mask, etc. are hanging out in the air.

Hi, I am trying to visualize this. Do you put the towel on top of the pillow?
