From the user manual:
System Overview
"The DreamStation CPAP is a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy device designed for the treatment
of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The DreamStation CPAP Pro can also deliver CPAP-check therapy, and the
DreamStation Auto CPAP can also deliver CPAP-Check and Auto-CPAP therapy. Your home care provider will choose
the appropriate pressure settings for you."

Maybe somebody can tell us what "cpap-check" is? First time I have seen that term. I have an Auto and have not seen that in any setting. Maybe it refers to the data recording capability?

it's in the clinical manual, if you don't have it, follow the link on the top of the apneaboard.com page to find out how to request it via email.

Should have stated that this is a BiPap DreamStation Pro. I'll check the manual...ChicagoGranny turned me on to that on another issue.

Still the same principle as the Pro CPAP.........straight bilevel pressures.........fixed EPAP and fixed IPAP.
And, virtually any bilevel machine can be set to a straight CPAP setting.

The Pro model number has a 4 after the DSX. The auto has a 5 and the standard is a 2.

"Regular" Dream Station is a "brick." One pressure, no stats. However, I think it does have leak and altitude compensation (as do all the others).
Dream Station Pro puts out one pressure all night, but it does give stats.
Dream Station Auto gives stats and can raise the pressure when it senses distress (if the max pressure is set higher than the min).
There is also a bi-level version, but that's a somewhat specialized unit.
