SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
I am new to sleep apnea
I have the ResMed Airsense 10 system and use the F-P Simplus mask
Im having a lot of trouble cleaning the hose-- the mask and reservoir are not a problem
I get water everywhere trying to clean the hose and its time consuming each morning when im pressed for time
Ive looked at cleaning machines and it seems the SoClean 2 system is the most commonly used
My question is : Has anyone used it, how was it and is rhere better atletnative?
Thanks

since you're too stupid to type in 'soclean' into the search bar and read, then you're likely too stupid to heed the advice that it's an expensive toy that does nothing.gbailey wrote:I am new to sleep apnea

Re: SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
Just wash the washable parts per instructions.
As time passes, frequency drops off. That is OK, too much scrubbing is bad for silicone.
The SoClean DOES NOT CLEAN,
I makes the air smell like ozone, which we associate with rain and cleanliness.
It is an illusion.
KEEP YOUR MONEY.

Re: SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
So Clean is a known (and useless) scam...
However, as far as hoses go, very many of us never clean them - decade to decade, literally, because there's no point at all. Room air that you breathe all day long goes first through a filter (back of machine) and then through the machine, the hose and out the front... never to be seen again.
There is nothing to clean! The mfgrs tell you to do all kinds of nonsense to satisfy their lawyers and insce. co's, but really, don't waste your time!

My sleep doc did express concern to me to replace all the maintenance parts as frequently as the insurance will pay for. He said that stuff can grow, even if you use distilled water all the time.

I'll clean mine occasionally anyway, thanks! ( though not with the "SoClean" )Julie wrote:There is nothing to clean! The mfgrs tell you to do all kinds of nonsense to satisfy their lawyers and insce. co's, but really, don't waste your time!
Filtered or not, I'm still opening up the tank each night to add distilled water (or ice) - from a jug that usually sits under my bed for a month. Unlike rabbits, it only takes one bacterium to turn into a colony. It's an easy thing to run a hose brush and water through it once every two weeks or so.

Aside from us, everyone is either covering their bottoms or trying to boost their bottom line.
Really.
Really.

Re: SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
I was dumb enough to to buy this piece of junk. The first month I had it things were okay then I noticed the silicon on my mask was turning brown . I use Nasal pillows and I started seeing brown spots inside the nose inserts. I contacted so clean and they told me it was because I needed to clean the humidifier tank and I did . I got a new mask and after 2 months problem occurred again. I was cleaning humidifier water chamber daily. I discovered this brown junk on my pillow really nasty. Now so clean tells me I have to clean mask daily using their cleaning solution . This so clean 2 is a con don't buy it I'm certain it will damage the silicone seals in your machine as well.
Re: SoClean 2 equipment cleaner
They spend a lot of money advertising this thing on infomercials, especially late at night. It's no wonder that lots of people fall for it.
