Hi CPAP Gang,
I'm lucky enough to be traveling to Chile over the holidays. Will bring my ResMed AirSense 10 machine and back-ups of my Respironics Dreamwear Nasal Mask.
I found the plug/adapters I need for that country, but am wondering about "voltage converters." Does anyone know: do I need to buy a voltage converter for this machine? If so, can you recommend one?
I found one on Amazon, called "Step Down Voltage Converter (1875 Watts) & International Universal Travel Adapter Transformer." $29.99. Says it works in South America, but also says (in all caps) DO NOT USE WITH CPAP MACHINES. Hmm. What gives?
Recommendations or insight (or wry commentary...) appreciated.
Thank you!
Patrick

Hi IrishPatrick,
You've got a black plastic brick-shaped thing that has a cable going to the wall socket, and another cable going to the ResMed, right?
That is already a voltage converter. If you look at the underneath, it tells you the range of voltages it works with.
You may however need a wall-plug converter, and you might as well get one with surge protection. You'll find this one on Amazon:
Universal Worldwide Travel Adapter Plug, Costech Wall Charger Adapter AC Power
AU UK US EU Plug Adaptor 2 USB Charging Port surge Protector All in One (White)

Re: Traveling abroad: Voltage, plugs, etc.
Thank you, Rick Blaine. Much appreciated.
Yes, looking at the big square brick right now, says range is 100-240V.
And Chile (according to Google) supplies electricity at 220V, so I'm guessing I'll be fine.
Surge protector is a great suggestion, too. Thank you.
