Power Supply Travelling - Canada/US to UK

Post by Neutron Star » Sun Apr 23, 2017 6:24 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could just buy a UK Resmed Airsense 10 power cord and plug machine in when overseas like I do with my laptops or will I need to use a travel converter?

Also any information/recommendations on a portable power supply for camping etc would be most welcome.

Thanks

Your machine is like your laptop. You just need an adapter.

The CPAP machine will operate fine on UK power. A less pricey alternative to buying a complete UK power cord is to get a simple US/to UK plug adapter which will be available at AAA or almost any travel supplies place. Note that if you expect to go to Continental Europe also, there will be various power sockets used, entirely different than either US or UK. Many overseas travel stores have a little set of adapters for other European countries.

You will likely have a problem purchasing distilled water in the UK for your humidifier.
If you have family/friends in the UK then you might want to get then to go to "Boots" pharmacy and pre order some because it is not normally available in store.

I have several adapters but lots of machines don't work exactly the same when using them. My wife's blender she brought over when she came to Canada doesn't generate the same power/torque. It's under powered. I think it's probably safer for tge machine to buy the cord.
