Nobody else seems to worry about this... talked to an idiot RT last night (not my regular dude who's out this week) and he seemed to not care about anything. I had surgery on Friday and all that I seem to be doing is sleeping... I mean that it's worse than pre-cpap.
I'm going to try calling the GP... who knows nothing about apnea (and freely admits it), see if she can tell me if I'm anemic or something. I'm running out of steam in the middle of the day. I pushed myself and made myself stay at work all day yesterday for the first time all week.
The surgeon said that I should be fine to resume normal activities after 2-3 days.
I'm checking my numbers and they look ok... AHI is 2.8... can't seem to get it lower than that.
Sleeping after Surgery
You don't say what surgery was performed or how long it was, but nearly all surgeries are major insults to the body. Post-surgical sleep is not at all unusual. The body is using many of its resources to repair the damage caused by the surgery, and sleep states are when the body recharges its resources, so to speak. Prolonged anesthesia can also cause excessive sleepiness for several days after a surgery. If it continues more than a few days, check with your doc; but right now I wouldn't worry too much over it.
Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
