I'm new to all this, and excited about the prospect of really sleeping.
I've not yet gotten my machine and attachments (and will be reading here and elsewhere for information on which one is most likely to meet my needs, such as I understand them at this point), but I had my first sleep study the other night, and felt I did well with the full-face mask.
For an assortment of reasons, I tend to use cleaning products (especially laundry detergents) that have no perfumes or dyes. My shower soap has been Lifeguard for many years, as it is one of the few that does not give me hives.
I've been told that the last thing I do before going to bed will be to wash my face with Ivory soap, and that when I get up I will be washing my mask and its gasket, and the suggested product is Ivory liquid (I'm presuming dish liquid, but please correct me if I'm wrong).
My question is whether there is a cleaner that doesn't leave such an odor, or does the aroma of Ivory rinse out easily. Do the idiosyncracies of local water affect this, too?
Thanks for all your help!
Ivory liquid
not dish liquid soap! way too harsh
soap that has no anti bacterial or lotions in it - a 'pure' soap - I get the Ivory soap from Rite Aid
it's hand soap and no dyes or anything in it - the smell is very mild - I can't even smell it after washing my mask with it
hopefully it will work for you = good luck!!!!

I'm very sensitive to many fragrances. Even ResMed's manual recommends using a mild, pure soap such as Dove. Well, Dove is 1/4 moisturizer, and the unscented version contains masking fragrance.
Only the sensitive skin formula is truly fragrance-free, although it still has the moisturizer. Research has shown that Dove is generally THE most gentle and best tolerated of the top-selling bar soaps. That is why the dermatologists so often recommend Dove.
There are dish detergents made for hand washing, but they often have anti-bacterial agents. I have often washed my face with them, but never on a regular basis. No problems yet, but sporadic use is no recommendation!
There is another thread discussing Dr Bronner's soap. You may wish to consult that one for more information.

From what I understand, the oils from your skin can interfere with the seal on the mask or nasal tube. I use Johnson & Johnson "Head to Toe" baby wash. It is very mild and I can't detect any smell. I do not like the odor of the baby shampoo. So far I have had good results. Don
