adjusting pressure on a remstar plus

Can anyone guide me through the procedure for adjusting pressure on a remstar plus w/C-FLEX?

Also I have mailed respironics and asked them to develop a technology that allows me to text message my humidifier if I'm out so its all warmed up at bedtime

Will the humidifier call you if its out of water? Or are you going to plumb it to your water lane and install a float?

REMstar Plus CPAP Setup.

1. With the machine plugged into a wall outlet, unplug the cord from the back of the CPAP. Then, press and hold down the two user buttons below the display screen while plugging the cord back into the CPAP, and continue to hold the buttons down until the CPAP beeps. This will indicate that the CPAP is in the Therapy Setup Menu.

2. The display will first show the number of hours the machine has been used. To erase this total and begin again at zero, press and hold the ramp or humidifier button. An “X” will appear on the display. Hold the button down until the time change to “0” and the “X” disappears.

To skip this setting or continue, press the right user button.

3. The elevation setting will appear next. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears. Here are the elevation settings: 1 = less than 2,500 ft.; 2 = 2,500 to 5,000 ft.; 3 = 5,001 to 7,500 ft.

To skip this setting or continue, press the right user button.

4. The therapy mode will appear, either CPAP or CFLEX. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

5. The CPAP pressure will appear. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

6. The CPAP fine adjustment setting will appear. This setting allows you to calibrate your CPAP pressure to a manometer. We suggest you do not try to adjust this setting.

7. The CFLEX setting will appear if you selected the CFLEX mode in number 4 above. A setting of 1 offers the least drop in pressure, 3 offers the most. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

8. The ramp time will appear next. It may be set for 0 to 45 minutes in 5 minute increments. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

9. The ramp starting pressure will appear. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

To skip this setting or continue, press the right user button.

10. The patient disconnect setting will appear. This sounds an alarm when there is a mask leak and turns the airflow off. 1 = On; 2 = Off. To change this setting, press the ramp or humidifier button until the correct setting appears.

There are no other settings available. Press the pressure start/stop button to exit the menu or press the right user button to scroll through the settings again.

Nope, I've bought a Pro2, from sell dot come, an HC431 , and two RemStar Autos from yahoo auctions. I have since sold the Pro2 on Yahoo auction. The guy who sold me the HC431 is the only one who I know is a DME.
Furthermore, I have purchased a spare CL2 from a member of this forum, and I just traded it for a spare Hybrid to another member of this forum.

This is my hobby, man.

Wulfman, I need some clarification.

I have the RemStar Plus Series M and "press and hold down the two user buttons below the display screen" doesn't make sense to me. There are three buttons below the display, Ramp Up, On/Off, and CFlex. What buttons does this refer to?

The following is what somebody posted for the M Series Auto machine, but most of the basics should be the same for yours.

Remstar M-Series Provider Setup Guide

You must use the Provider Setup Guide to get the machine properly configured for the treatment you want. To do so, first unplug the machine. Then, hold down both the Left and Right Arrow buttons while plugging the power cord back in. When you hear 3 beeps, release the buttons.

The setup menu navigation and options are extensive. Press the + key to get to the setup features. The first five screens set the machine up for CPAP or AUTO, the CPAP pressure, the AUTO range (4-20 cm H20 in 0.5 cm increments), and the C-Flex setting (0-3).

This machine includes the option of a Ramp Time and Ramp start pressure. NOTE: Others have reported that the Ramp function was not available in earlier Remstar machines when they were in Auto mode, but it can be used in Auto mode with the M-series.

Finally, you have a Mask Alert, Auto On/Off a feature that turns the machine off when you remove the mask during the night, Split Night Study, Show AHI/Leak data on the Patient Screen (you definitely want to turn on this feature so you can monitor your data from the screen while in patient mode), and a Patient Reminder.

When you finish, press the Power button to get back to Patient/User Mode.

My DME is charging $50 for the 6-foot hose!

My new one c-crapped after only a little over a years use. Got my old on out and with your instructions raised the co2 to the new setting.
