How to turn humidifier and tube heat off on AirSense 10?

Post by PaulyWally » Mon Jul 03, 2017 1:58 pm

I have a new ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP with the ClimateLineAir heated tube. I know how to access the Clinical Menu and turn off humidification but cannot see any way to turn the heated tubing entirely off (only to a temperature in the range between 60 and 80 degrees F (16 to 30 C). Do I need to get a standard (non-heated) tube?

My reason for wanting to do this is as follows:

(1) My house is dry in the winter months so having the humidifier on with a heated tube makes sense in the winter.
(2) My house isn't so dry otherwise and I think that overly warm humid air should be avoided, when possible, since it is a harbinger for the nasties (Legionnaires' in the extreme) thus requiring more stringent cleaning practices then I'm likely to follow.

Does this make sense?

Thx

Heat and humidity functions are automatic, controlled by sensors.
You are likely to find out (as have I) that any changes are not necessary.

Perhaps I am a big dummy, but unless you keep your home temperature below 60, and set the hose to its lowest setting, it shouldn't come on.
Of course, you could just use a standard hose during the summer and set the humidity to zero.
I know...Thank you Captian Obvious...

Guys don't read manuals right?! but it so happens that the manual (or at least the one I have) neglects to mention that the heating tube can, in fact, be turned off! No need for a standard tube. Now the only question is, am I correct in assuming that hot humid air is a potential magnet for badness and the clear reason for having a good cleaning regime when using the humidifier.
Thanks for everyone that weighed in.

Keep in mind that AC does remove moisture from the air. So summer is when I turn the heat off the humidifier and use it in passover mode.

There also a blank side cover that replaces the humidifier chamber. Throw it in instead and the machine recognizes the chamber isn't being used, turns humidifier off. Part # 37303
