Cleansmart spray??? anyone use it

Post by Cardsfan » Wed Sep 13, 2017 11:27 am

I've found this http://www.cleansmarthome.com has anyone used this? Quite a few of the reviews on Amazon say it works great for their cpap masks.

I use soap and water. I don't think anyone needs this product.

I'd use it - if I wanted to destroy my immune system. Stop trying to sterilize and sanitize any semblance of any bacteria ('germs') out of your life - you're setting yourself up to live in a bubble - in a hospital - because you'll have nothing left to fight off real and serious trouble!

Your link seems to be incomplete so I couldn't go check it out..
but no...never heard of it and don't use anything similar.

Hot soapy water is all I use and I don't use it all that often.

I could see a full face mask maybe needing facial oil removal more than my nasal pillows ...if I were using a FFM I would probably more likely use some sort of "baby" wipe or similar cleaning wipe daily and give it a good hot water wash maybe weekly.

The nasal pillows don't get much oils on them. The only time I might wash daily is if I had a cold and runny nose then I would wash more often just because of the yuck factor.

It says it is for hard, non-porous surfaces only.

I'll take a few breaths, been on XPAP 12 years, after the first year, stopped play cleaning my equiptment, I only wash, sanitize after I get over a infection, which is not often, less often than before XPAP. Jim

You can read the link if you remove the dashes at the end of it.

Cardsfan, it's only 'interesting' in that it's just one more co. trying to make money off people who don't know better... like a generation of young 'helicopter' mothers who never knew what it was like to grow up e.g. 50 yrs ago in the 'real' world where kids actually got dusty and even dirty once in a while without someone wiping and spraying the heck out of them every 10 mins as if they were biohazards.

I took a look.

Might be something I would use for general cleaning more than for cpap stuff.
I say "might" because I really don't worry about toxicity of my cleaning supplies...maybe I should but I don't.
I know that some people do worry greatly though and I can understand.
That said...didn't check prices and there are other "safe" products available to compare cost to.

My husband a truck load a while back where Lysol foam cleaner was part of the load and a case of it was damaged and refused...no one wanted it...so now I have 24 cans of the stuff to use up. Works well enough for me and the smell fades quickly.

Never tried that, I use the Spray dis-infectant, might try that foam. Jim

Spend the $300 on the SoClean machine. Hassle free-just dump the whole mask in the compartment and wala--done. Time is money--and trying to clean it in a tub or basin is just not worth it. The mask should absoutely be cleaned otherwise who knows what disease you could get. Since I am new to this I clean mine every day. This of course may not be necessary.

Except by using the SoClean machine you are not actually cleaning your equipment... Even they admit as much.
