Has there ever been a consensus on this forum as to which
is the best chin strap to use? Thanks!
Best Chin Strap
I have only used one. I forget the name but its made by Tiara and its just a simple black strip with a hole around the chin area. Its reasonably comfortable, but does not stay in place very well. The biggest problem I found with chin straps is that they may keep the jaw up/closed, but the lips can still open and let the pressure escape.
The only solutions for that seem to be taping and denture adhesive. I haven't tried either one, but I just might. I recently got a new Activa mask and I LOVE it, but I still have problems with air escaping my mouth.
If there is a chin strap that solves the open lip issue I would love to know about it!

Re: Best Chin Strap
Apparently most people believe that chin straps DO NOT work.meister wrote:Has there ever been a consensus on this forum as to which

In *MY* experience, the Tiara Ruby Chin strap has worked very well for me.
However, I will admit that I was a non believer at first, having initially tried a couple that were useless.
The Ruby is only about $18 , maybe you should try it out firsthand and decide for yourself. But again, remember that much of this cpap gear works for some, but not for others.
Good Luck!

Add me to the useless crew.
I use tape, and in addition I use a homemade chinstrap (3 inch ace bandage) which loosely wrapped, keeps my jaws up and keeps my cheeks in so I don't get the "blowfish".
This combination while it looks rather silly, works well for me. My storebought chinstrap is in the bottom of the drawer collecting dust as it slipped all over --- anywhere except where it was supposed to be.
