New Airfit N20 mask: confused

Post by Amany55 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 3:19 pm

Hello,
I just got my new Airfit N20. Is it normal to have and hear air coming out from the elbow? Airsense cpap shows the green happy face and sleepyhead shows no large leaks. I am confused
I appreciate your experience

All masks have tiny holes for flushing out exhaled air.
It is normal, and essential. Never cover or plug them.

Look at the elbow carefully and make sure you aren't hearing or feeling the air coming from the vent holes.
Is this a totally new mask for you? You are showing the P10 in your profile...it has a totally different venting system and you can't hear the air venting and barely can feel it.
Not so with the N20...it has more traditional vent holes and is going to be felt and heard more.

Yes, this is new O’Neal’s I am in my third day with it. I I feel and hear the sound of air coming out of its tiny holes of the venting at the elbow.

It's the normal venting system and not excess leak above the normal vent rate.
It's a negative feature when compared to the silent P10 where the vent holes are diffused.

I appreciate it. I re assembled it following the video and the sound of air disappeared
It seems that it arrived me not correctly assembled.
What is still confusing me, is that both the cpap and sleepyhead did not show any leak.
Thank you all for your kind help.

SleepyHead can only report whatever the cpap machine is reporting and if the machine couldn't sense it then we wouldn't expect SleepyHead to report something the machine didn't report.

It was probably a teeny tiny fitting issue where that swivel joint is and while highly annoying to us...not that big of a leak per the machine.

Glad you got it all sorted out.

I have never even seen an N20 to compare it to my P10 and the vent holes are right next to the swivel thingy...I think so it would be easy to assume the excess leak was normal venting.

Thank you Pugsy,
I agree with you. I got it to alternate it with my p10
The issue with p10 is nasal soreness after few days of use
I am also having dry mouth since I started Airsense10. I got the chin straps and I tried the hair band too. Therefore, having a different mask is one strategy to overcome it. I am reading all posts daily to get advices regarding this issue.
