Transcend Mini CPAP

Post by aherman18 » Sat Apr 28, 2018 12:29 pm

OK, this is probably a dump question...

So I have been using a resmed 10 and a respironics dreamwear full face. Traveling for the first time with my Transcend Mini, same mask, same pressures, etc.

I'm having a more difficult time falling asleep with the Transcend because of the air noise in the mask?? Machine is not loud, just the air in the mask, yet the pressure is set up the same and it feels reasonable.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

I have found the Dreamwear with cushion noisy. Have you tried another mask?

Dave

With the Airsense 10, you have the humidifier/water buffering some of the noise. Overall, the Transcend is much noiser than the Airsense.

OK, I've sorted where the problem is...

When I exhale using the Resmed 10, very little noise from the mask. When I exhale using the Transcend, lots of noise of air rushing through the mask vents.

Any ideas what would cause this. I was using the exact same mask.

Thanks,

Andrew

Is your AS10 set up for EPR, during which the exhalation noise would be kept to a minimum? I mean, if the TMT is the same, air flow and limitations the same, and the mask and tubing/vent the same.....what's left?

Resmed and Transcend (EPR?) set to -2. So I THINK they are set up the same.

Does anyone have experience with the Z1??

Thanks,

Andrew

The noise the machine itself makes being conducted up the hose.

Different machines make different amounts of noise.

Noise from the machine coming ----

That probably makes the most sense.
