I have been using the Resmed F20 for the last 3 months and I'm very happy to move from the Fitlife Total Mask to a full face mask. I have to use a strip of moleskin over a strip of medical tape to protect the bridge of my nose. To those full face mask users that had to start out using similar medical tape / moleskin protection: did the bridge of your nose eventually toughen up to the point where you didn't need the tape / moleskin? If so, how long did it take? I know we are all different.... just want to get some idea.
Thanks, Sheriff

Hey Sheriff! The fitlife mask isn’t too bad
works good when my face and nose need a break from my F20 mask.
My nose brodgebeven with a liner could never get used to the silicone seal on my mask. Without question thatafter about three to four nights using a RemZzz liner that I start forming sores on my nose bridge. I had to switch to a F20 with memory foam and I use a Remzz liner with that and 90+% of the time I get zero leaks and is super comfortable with no signs of sores forming.
I think thebsores I suffer from are pressure sores so liners or tape don’t seem to help my skin - you’d think my skin was like a peach!
That being said I do revisit the F20 silicone seal version of my masks to see if my skin has tried to toughen up but it doesn’t look promising for me. I want to try other masks but am hesitant to do so for fear of creating new sores. My nose bridge still has scars from two months ago that haven’t faded yet.

Re: Moleskin and Medical Tape Users
When I first started, I used the Mirage Quatro mask. Not knowing any better, I continued to use the mask even though it caused a large, open sore on my nose. After meeting with my RT, I got the Simplus mask. The RT told me about using moleskin on my nose to prevent sores. She said her husband used it every night, and had done so for quite a while. I would cut about an inch off of the roll of moleskin and stick it on my nose and it prevented my nose from getting sore. I purchased it from Amazon in 5 yard rolls which is much cheaper than buying the small sheets at the local stores. If you want to purchase it in rolls, here is a link to what I purchased:

Re: Moleskin and Medical Tape Users
I used tape and/or moleskin for years and it mostly worked to keep the blisters and raw sores off of my nose bridge. But they always tended to make my mask leak. Then I found boomerang gel pads designed to help with mask leaks and I very rarely have an issue with leaks or sores anymore. I'm never going back to tape and moleskin. And no, my nose never toughened up enough to not get sores without padding.

Re: Moleskin and Medical Tape Users
I used a gel nose pad for quite a few months when I first started with the Quattro but eventually I no longer needed it as my nose had becomes accustomed to the mask. Now just use a Remzzz liner for comfort.

Glad to hear! What kind of leak rates do you get when you use the fitlife?CPAPSteve wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 12:20 pmHey Sheriff! The fitlife mask isn’t too badworks good when my face and nose need a break from my F20 mask.
