Anyone using the Nano or N20 Resmed nasal mask -- not the N10

Post by nanwilson » Wed Nov 28, 2018 2:37 pm

Any likes - dislikes ? I have used the P10 ever since it came out and do very well with it. But, this winter I have sores on the inside of my nostrils from the direct blowing air and the very DRY climate we are having. I have turned up my humidity several notches but that is not helping heal them up :( That's why I thought I would try a nasal only mask for the times that I have this problem. Does anyone use the Nano or N20 and do you like it or did you give it up????? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Cheers
Nan

Dumb old lady... I should have looked at Jason's review of the N10 BEFORE I posted asking about the N10
He recommended the Nano, so am asking you what you think about it or the N20.
Cheers again

I started with nose pillows and got tired of the sore nose. One of the masks I tried was the Nano and I really liked it. You have to adjust it for a bit until it fits correctly and doesn't leak but it's very comfortable I thought. I think it would work really well for someone whose face isn't as thin as mine. I subsequently found the DreamWear Nasal Cushion and chose it over all of them for comfort and ease of fitting. Good luck!

I am currently using the N20 for her while I try to make the nasal pillows work for me (mouth leak, sore nose, headgear issues...).

I am a newbie to cpap but find the N20 to work great. I think my only issues are 1) I cannot wear my glasses with it and I like to drift off to sleep watching TV, and 2) the top of my nose will sometimes tickle and I have to slide a finger under the seal to rub the tickle. I do put some cream on my face to help keep a secure seal. Other than that, it fits well and works well. It is also very quiet. My fiance asked me the other night if I was going to put my mask on and it already was

I hope this helps!

The Swift FX Nano was the 1st mask I tried, and used to for 3 years. Then I switched to the P10. The big difference in the two is the exhaust vents on the Nano are like a jet engine compared to the P10. I find the Nano very comfortable and use it still occasionally when the P10 has irritated me. The headgear on the Nano is very similar to the P10 in that it slips on and off real easy.

I have the N20. Thought a non-pillows nasal mask might seal well and be less irritating to my nose.

But, for reasons I cannot fathom, I cannot wear it longer than about 4 hours! I wake up with what feels like congestion. But mainly just "restricted" breathing. Same machine, same humidity and temp settings.

I suspect the air pressure that is also on the exterior of my nostrils is collapsing them somewhat. Put the P10 or other nasal pillows mask on and I am good for the rest of the night.

I would have liked for it to work. But it just won't for me. Tried probably 5 nights with exactly the same result.

It is comfortable.

Another thought about masks. I have 10 masks that I have bought out of pocket since June I think. One thing I find very hard to tolerate any longer is masks that have the standard exhaust ports where you feel them blow out and hear them when it hits a pillow or sheet. There are masks that don't do that at ALL. Bravida, P10 for instance. All about quality of sleep, if the vent wakes you even once, that isn't good.

Do you have the headgear and frame/short hose for the Swift FX nasal pillow mask laying around somewhere?
If so you can use the Nano cushion with it and all you would need to buy is the cushion.

Sorry...never even seen the N10 or N20 thus never tried them...they don't interest me...too much headgear to suit my tastes.

I have used the Nano though and quite successfully...even used it with the Bella Loops successfully. I thought for sure it would pull the Loops too much but it didn't.

I didn't like the swift FX so passed it on to someone else. I ordered the airfit n20 just a few minutes ago, so will see how that works out.
Thanks for the suggestions though, I appreciate the help.
