For me, Mouth taping was less about mouth leaks vs keeping my mouth from drying out.

I wear a FFM and have always done so ever since I had my first machine. I've played with a few nose only masks I got from family who stopped using theirs to go to FFMs as well and just couldn't get them to work for me.

The way I dealt with mouth taping was to apply one decent sized strip of tape vertically, centered directly on the mouth. I would pull my lips in like some people do to spread out lip gloss or something and I would apply the strip of tape, about 1 2/3 inches to 2 inches. This helps keep my trap shut during the night so my mouth doesn't dry out. If for some reason I need to breath through my mouth I still can - from the sides. Like a trumpet player who can take a quick breath from the sides of the mouth with out taking the mouthpiece from your lips. Also less tape to fool with in the morning - less skin to tape contact.

This has worked for me - when I take the time to do it.

Rest well,
