Philips Dreamstation changing max pressure

Post by rhymeguy » Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:42 am

Hi all!

I'm trying to change max pressure setting and I was able to do that from provider menu, but for some reason it keeps reseting after short period of time. Am I doing something wrong?
If I remember correctly my provider had "special" software and he wrote bunch of settings in my sd card. What could be the name of that software?

The settings are on your SD Card.

Use a new SD Card or erase the data on your existing one. This will also erase historic sleep data, so ensure it's been backed up or loaded into SleepyHead.

What is your max pressure and why do you want to change it?

The software used is Encore Pro.
You can get the software and make changes from within the software so that any changes you make in the setup menu will stick but it's a PITA to use (and Windows only).
To be honest it's just easier to use a new card or erase the current card to get rid of that little bit of script on the SD card causing the machine to not let you change anything.

The machine retains the bulk of any results in the internal memory and you won't lose anything but the detailed flow rate graph if you erase the card and then put it back in the machine. If you are using software to see those flow rate graphs...you have them saved already.

It's possible that your DME is doing this, perhaps automatically. Try removing the modem for a few days and see if the problem goes away.

Don't worry about compliance. You will catch up when you put the modem back in.

It's 11. Yesterday i woke up very tired and I saw that i had 16 AHI and I wanted to see if it will be better with increased pressure.

Almost always there's no problem increasing your maximum pressure. If the machine doesn't need to go higher, it won't.

But, a lot of events and (unnecessary) pressure increases are avoided by increasing the minimum pressure.

Load your data into SleepyHead, post some graphs, let some of the experts have a look.

Hi all!
why, hello and welcome to the forum!

here's some info you may need as you continue on in your cpap journey-

viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html

someone(dogslobber?) mentioned sleepyhead and graphs. the above link explains that more. it's goo that you aren't afraid to change your own settings. all the regulars here do that. hell, some of us "irregulars" do it as well.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

You for sure need more maximum and most likely need more minimum as well.

Makes me wonder what changed to cause such a dramatic pressure needs increase....sleeping position maybe? On your back more???

Also...let's fix the time over red line leak statistic. Your leaks aren't nearly as bad as the statistic is saying they are.

The statistic reporting the % of time in large leak is based on a ResMed calculation number and that number won't work for your Respironics machine.
Open SH and go to Preferences and then the CPAP tab. SH Defaults to a red line leak threshold of 24 L/min which is a ResMed leak number...won't work with your machine. Your red line threshold number is more like 75...so change the 24 to 75 or just turn off that statistic by removing the check mark.

Thanks Pugsy!

I turned off "Flag leaks over threshold" and update images in my previous post.

I suggest min of 9 and max of 20.
