Is Rehabmart.com legit?

Post by JMB73 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 6:00 pm

Has anyone bought from rehabmart.com? Their prices seem too good to be true. A CS rep told me that these are new machines, straight from the manufacturer (I made sure that the manufacturer is Resmed...at least she said it is). The weird thing is that they say this:
Notice: This unique custom fabricated item is made-to-order using a "Just in Time" manufacturing process. This is designed to keep your cost lower, but may require an additional 7 - 10 day lead time before your product ships. You can still order this product, however, please be aware of a potential shipping delay. If you require a quicker delivery time frame, please choose an alternate product in our CPAP Machines category.
The woman didn't really know much about that except that she said that's what the manufacturer told them to put on their website. Another weird thing is that she said no prescription is required for this machine.

This all just seems fishy as heck to me. But for all I know, it's legit. I mean, I was looking at secondwindcpap, and they are offering a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her with the heated tube for $550, used. Rehabmart is offering supposedly the exact same machine, new, with the heated tube, for $600.

https://www.rehabmart.com/product/airse ... 43301.html

For the $50, it might be worth just getting a new one. Does anyone know if this Rehabmart is legit?

Looks like they probably don't stock the item on the shelf...instead you order and pay and then they order it (from who knows but it's unlikely that it is directly from ResMed because ResMed doesn't allow anyone they sell wholesale to ..to advertise or sell anything below ResMed MSRP) and then they get it and then ship to you.

They also seem to lump cpap and bipap under one category and of course they are not the same things.
The sleekly designed BIPAP/CPAP accessory uses an AutoSet algorithm ......
I have no idea if they are legit or not...never heard of them but the way they do their product descriptions it's fairly obvious they don't know what they are talking about. Makes it smell kinda fishy to me.

Perhaps they are selling factory rejects? I found this interesting. A custom made APAP machine??

The lead time could be because it comes from China or some other kind of drop shipping operation so that they have enough time to place the order. I'd be curious to see who it actually ships from.

You can about guarantee there is no manufacturer warranty on the machine.

It's all very strange, but the price is so good! And they have an "A" with the BBB.

https://www.bbb.org/us/ga/watkinsville/ ... 3-27213898

The thing is, if I order a used machine from secondwindcpap, how can I know that it wasn't originally from wherever these machines come from? I mean, if they were selling knockoff machines (could that even really happen, given the kind of machine we're talking about here?), I doubt they would have a good BBB standing. And from what I've read, a used machine would show hours used (apparently you can't reset that?). But not needing a prescription is weird/fishy. I kept asking the CS rep about all this, and she didn't seem to know all that much. But that still doesn't mean that it wouldn't be the exact same brand new machine I could get from cpap.com costing $280 more....

I wish someone on this forum had bought from them. Given the price, I'm surprised not more people have!

On the product page, it says 2 year warranty. I sent an email asking if it's a manufacturer warranty, with Resmed. Hopefully hear back about it tomorrow.

Make sure the warranty is valid in the US. Manufacturers warranties are sometimes country specific.

The BBB is a shill organization these days... members that pay get good ratings, companies that don't... bad ones. (or so I've read).

I find reading the customer complaints and vendor responses on BBB to be more illuminating than the "reviews."

Ditto. read every BBB complaint. I would never do business with this company.

You beat me to it. Years ago, I kept getting letters from the BBB offering to give me a good rating if I became a paying member.

For a fee, one can have negative online comments removed from certain sites;
(or so I've read)
Enterprising fiction writers can get paid to write "reviews" for products they have never seen.
