After many failed attempts, ie: tape, chin strap, poligrip strips, denture cream, I finally kept my mouth shut all night last night with an ACE Bandage!!! Works great!!!!

Glad to hear it worked for you. Out of curiosity; did you use it like a chin strap or did you put it over your mouth?

Used it like a chin strap, but made it a little tighter than a chin strap can be and put it just below my lower lip.

I use the one with velcro to stay in place. I have read where others have used pins, it's just your preference I suppose. Good luck!

Thanks! I didn't know there was such a thing. I'll look for one. J

I love the Ace bandage. It keeps my mouth closed, and keeps me from having Chipmonk Cheeks.

I've been a fan of the 3 inch ace bandage for 8 months or so now. Cheaper than a chin strap, more effective and washed fine.
Glad to hear it is working for others. Unfortunately I still need tape too, since neither alone works but in combination it is great.

Go to the Wal-Mart foot stuff and look for the universal support bandage made for knee and el-bow. It is about 2 feet long, 3 inches or so wide and velcro fastened. I use the poli-grip strips for my lips and strap for my chin. No drooling and no mouth leaking. Be careful not to fasten too tight it might provoke jaw pain or other problems.
Good luck,
TerryB

I to have been struggling to find something to keep my yap shut, thanks for the tip on ACE.
Last night I found that a head sweat band worked for me. Was comfortable and stopped my mouth breathing.

This might seem silly - but do you put it on under your mask? Does it go from chin to top of head or back? Thanks for the info - I might have to try this one!

crown of head to under chin (towards front of chin).
I put my swift on first then the ace bandage around the head but under the tube (my tube hangs down and goes under the covers with me)
Don't strap the tube to your face unless you want marks and want to be unconfortable.

I am having a terrible time with mouth breathing. I have a pressure of 16 and my lips flap, my checks puff and of course there is some drool. I tried to just retrain my mouth but the better sleep I got the more my mouth relaxed. I'm using athletic tape to keep my mouth secure but am afraid it is going to ruin my skin. Is there anyway you could show a picture of how the ace bandage works? I can't get it in my mind. Thanks so much..
