I was sadly mistaken when I thought I found the perfect mask and that part of my cpap journey is over. Instead, since I changed the machine to apap mode and increased the pressure (now to 14), I'm getting more leaks that wake me up. My frustration levels also spike up (hah) and off goes the mask, at least for awhile. Plus, the mask now feels uncomfortable, but perhaps I've been tightening it too much in response. Does anyone have any tips for mask fitting or a thread I've missed?
Do you use the mask fitting menu choice to see if the seal is good (I assume it's going to the highest pressure to verify that it won't leak)? Sorry if this is a basic question.
I've wondered if I could train myself to treat the leaks like the snooze on an alarm clock. Just press the top of the machine, then let it re-seal at a lower pressure and go back to sleep. But I guess that wouldn't be good to do repeatedly if I'm having a bad night.

Re: Mask fit tips (F20)?
Are you using AirFit F20 or AirTouch F20?
I’m not an expert having only slept one night with the AirTouch cushion, but I think the AirFit one should be slightly loose, and then form a seal once the pressure is applied. I think AirTouch might need a little extra tightening. I hope someone else can chime in as I’m trying to figure this out myself.
In my experience, using the mask fit program on the machine might indicate whether the fit is good or not, but you should probably run the program while in the sleep position that you’re in most often. If you, as an example, sit straight and tilt your head downwards you’ll notice that there is a connection between the (sleeping) position of the mask and how it is adjusted to fit.
My guess is that once you’ve found a tightness that works with your sleeping position and pressure then you can rely on the magnetic clips when you go to bed.

Re: Mask fit tips (F20)?
I'm using the AirTouch F20. I wrestled with the AirFit F20 for about a month and a half due to the pressure and discomfort from the silicon on the bridge of my nose. I much prefer the foam cushion, even with the current issues.
It's interesting how much variation in preference and individual comfort there is from person to person with these masks.

Same here with the bridge of nose discomfort, and I also prefer foam over silicone. Hope it will last me longer than 30 days, and that ResMed can lower the price a bit.Long day's journey wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 2:46 pmI'm using the AirTouch F20.
