Authorized resellers/warranty

Post by ThreeCpap » Sun Jan 05, 2020 10:25 am

Hello all. I am attempting to buy a cpap machine online. I have seen a single post here discussing the merit of buying from an authorized dealer but no other follow-up. Is the sponsor cpap.com an authorized dealer for Resmed? I could not find this information on their site. I saw another online dealer (activelifestylestore.com) who say they will help with warranty issues but also don’t say they are authorized. Resmed’s website (I want to purchase the Airsense 10 Autoset; thanks all for your comments about it!) list of authorized dealers all sell for the same price; not very surprising! This is an expensive purchase and so I don’t want to get it wrong; can I have your advice? BTW, I’ve had several sleep studies and have a prescription and recommended mask. Thanks!
Thanks, ThreeCpap

If you look closely at Resmed's website there is a place for 'authorized dealers' to apply to be listed as an authorized dealer on Resmed's website so it's probably safe to assume that Resmed's website doesn't include all authorized dealers.

Yes, everyone advertises the same price for all Resmed stuff.
There are however 'magical' bundles if you look hard enough. I.E. Machine + Mask + bottle of cleaner somehow magically ends up costing less then the machine alone.
There are also magical coupon codes and 'limited time' sales. I got my Air Mini on an end of year special, even better it included a mask kit.
Then there is my favorite 'open box'. The box has to be opened to set your prescription...so technically everyone gets an 'open box' unit.
Obviously 'open box' isn't the same as new...so a discount is in order. This is how I got my S10 Autoset.

Yes.

They are authorized dealers for all the brands of machines that they sell.
While I haven't used them for a ResMed machine problem that was a warranty issue, I have used them for a Respironics machine purchased from them that had to be returned due to a problem covered by the warranty.

Not surprising, considering the reliability of Resmed machines.
I am using my third, and no problems with operation, though it is over 5 years old,
with over 17,000 hours.

They're either an authorized dealer, or they're knocking over delivery trucks every night stealing machines to resell in some unauthorized manner.

Thank you all for your kind advice and humor! I’ve hunted down a coupon from Our Sponsor and showed them some love. So I’ll soon be adding my ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset and Dreamwear nasal mask to my profile. Looking forward to getting set up with software, and I’m sure I’ll have more questions then. Thanks!
Thanks, ThreeCpap

It helps them if you mention https://www.cpap.com instead of the cloak and dagger kind of things that Apneaboard plays, (at least, i think each website mention prompts google and other search engines to bump up the rankings slightly.
