Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?
So I FINALLY found a battery under $100 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B078T7 ... L1K3&psc=1) that will power my husband's ResMed AirSense 10!!! The issue now is finding an inexpensive DC to DC adapter, as our insurance refuses to cover one (just like they won't cover the battery either). The ResMed ones here in Canada (part #37297) are all $122. I can find a lot of inexpensive AC to DC adapters, but no DC to DC. I don't think I would be able to build one. Any ideas?
It looks like it's going to be a rough winter, which means power outages. We already had another power outage the other night, and it sucked big time (for him and me... I can't sleep when I hear him snore). Hurricane Dorian was the last we lost our power. So I'm really trying to get on this whole battery backup thing.

Re: Third Party DC to DC Adapter for ResMed AirSense 10?
For the life of me, I can't find any Canadian third party DC to DC adapters. It was already hard enough finding the third party. Google showed no results, I followed a link to amazon.com which was for the genuine (expensive) adapter, and thankfully amazon.com listed a third party (brand is "KFD") as an alternative within the site. It ships to Canada, but will cost a total of about $60 CAD after all the import fees and shipping: https://www.amazon.com/KFD-Airsense-Air ... B07P6H994Q
There's also this listing for the same thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RQP7G14/re ... B07RQP7G14
There is also this one (different brand), but it has no reviews: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0821CMSPH/re ... B0821CMSPH
This one from the UK (also KFD) also ships to Canada and works out to be about $59 CAD after shipping: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... PQOK&psc=1
This same one from the UK works out to be about $57 CAD after shipping: https://www.amazon.co.uk/KFD-Vehicle-Ch ... 07SHGCPJQ/
Unfortunately, the only Canadian Amazon link is this one, and it's "currently unavailable": https://www.amazon.ca/KFD-Airsense-AirC ... B07P6H994Q
I also had to use duckduckgo.com with some of my searches, because I found Google was hiding some searches. It's like they're trying to force people to use OEM rather than third party.
The DC plug hole on the battery is 5.5 x 2.1mm so this cigarette lighter adapter should work: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019LPWSY0/ref=dp_cerb_1
If anyone has any Canadian third party DC to DC adapter options, I'm all ears!

I'm not sure that battery will do the job.
Its rating of 22400 Mah is at 3.7 volts. At 12 volts its capacity is 6.9 Amp hours.
If your CPAP is drawing 1 Amp, you're going to go from completely full to completely empty, in less than 7 hours.

I was able to buy the ResMed DC/DC part #37297 when Direct Home Medical (based in New Hampshire, USA) had a special sale going on, for around $60 dollars - right now it is on sale for $84 dollars on their website. directhomemedical.com
they ship for free to USA, and they do ship to Canada, just don't know what the cost of shipping is-

Husband's max pressure is 15, and he rarely goes over 10. According to the battery guide (https://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents ... lo_eng.pdf), without the humidifer on, the slimline tubing, and at a pressure of 16, the current draw is 1.23 A at 12V DC and battery size required for 8 hours of use at that draw is 15 Ah (15,000 mAh). So he should get a night out of it, no problem, depending on how much pressure he needs that night.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:35 amI'm not sure that battery will do the job.

Also, according to the user guide for the official ResMed Power Station II battery (https://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents ... er_eng.pdf), it is 97 Wh, whereas the Talentcell battery is 82.88 Wh, which is pretty comparable. Also, reviewers said it powered their CPAPs no problem.

Found something even cheaper. Since the Talentcell battery has 24V out, I can just get this Talentcell DC cord. No need to convert from 24V down to 12V and buy the cigarette adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RF ... L1K3&psc=1
Total after shipping and exchange is $35 CAD!
The same issue is where it has a listing in the Canadian Amazon, but not available: https://www.amazon.ca/Talentcell-DC7406 ... B07RFH6JQJ
What happened was I was poking around in Talentcell's store, and I found this ResMed S9 24V DC cord (https://www.amazon.ca/TalentCell-Power- ... 07RKPGGWH/), so I thought, "Hmmm... what about ResMed 10?"

Wait, I understand what you're saying now. Talentcell replied to a question and stated, "It’s 24v 3.2Ah and 3.7v 22.4A." So yeah... that's not nearly large enough. Going through the reviews again, it appears they're giving reviews for a different sized battery. This is all so confusing!Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:35 amI'm not sure that battery will do the job.

You have been fooled by the marketing lies of lithium battery suppliers.threehappypenguins wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:45 amHusband's max pressure is 15, and he rarely goes over 10. As dog slobber clearly said, that 22,400mah (really 22.4ah) is at 3.7 volts, you have to multiply the two together to find a common measurement, watthours, or wh.
Resmed specs 15ah at 12.6 volts. Or 189wh.
Your expensive battery gives 82.88wh.
A cheap mobility scooter battery (35ah@12.6v) would give you around 420wh for $65usd.
I'm sure they have mobility scooters in Canada.

Yes, and it makes it ten times more confusing when people are giving reviews that it works with their CPAP, when they must have not reviewed the proper sized battery. There is this $117 USD battery (https://www.amazon.com/TalentCell-PB120 ... BS55F?th=1) that is apparently 3.7V/42980mAh 159Wh, which means 13,265 mAh (13.27 Ah) or roughly 49Wh. That's still not very much.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:31 amAs dog slobber clearly said, that 22,400mah (really 22.4ah) is at 3.7 volts, you have to multiply the two together to find a common measurement, watthours, or wh.

Then, threads like this one (http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t172420/T ... ounds.html) or this one (http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t174299/H ... chine.html) further confound the issue.
Conversely, I did a quick Google search and see that I can get a scooter battery for $92.89 with 35 Ah: https://batteryclerk.ca/collections/sco ... tery?ls=en
