Bleep DreamPort
Bleep DreamPort
First post - new to this site. I’ve used Cpap for 5 years & hated most of the masks because of the marks on my face and mashed hair. All options leak air and try to blow off my face. The masks that work the best, leave the biggest marks (despite using high end felt strap wraps). Getting straight to the subject, tried the Bleep DreamPort mask last night and I am delighted to have no marks on my face this morning! The problem is how much noise it makes! I can hear every loud breath I take. The noise made it difficult for me to sleep and it woke my husband. Luckily for him, he just rolled over on his “good ear” and couldn’t hear it. Is there a solution for this problem? I’m cautiously optimistic and hoping I can use this wonderful invention.
Re: Bleep DreamPort
Welcome to the forum.
I have been using the Bleep mask for over a year now.
Yes, it can be a bit noisy from the vented air mainly. There is a way to diffuse that vented air though so it essentially becomes silent.
Most of us just slide a cpap machine filter up to the vent holes to diffuse the vented air. ResMed filters work great for it. Respironics filters are a bit too small.
I have talked with Stuart (who owns the company) about the venting noise issue. They are aware of it and actively working on fixing some way to just clip a filter to hold it in place. Not fine tuned enough yet to release to the public but they are working on it along with a more flexible and slightly longer hose.
Give me a few minutes and I will go dig out the picture showing the filter in place along with instructions.
It's in the big thread with all the reviews and questions and answers along with various hints people who used the mask have come up with.

Re: Bleep DreamPort
I find the filter hack + a rubber band to secure it against the vent makes the Bleep virtually silent.

One other thing. If you are still hearing noise after adding a filter to diffuse the exhaust, double (and triple) check to be sure you have securely attached the interface to the Dreamports. If they are not completely or securely attached, you will get a lot of constant airflow noise.

Re: Bleep DreamPort
Second night with Bleep DreamPort was WONDERFUL!! I slept 4 1/2 hours without waking up (unheard of for me) and went right back to sleep. My numbers were the best ever to include no leaks and less than 1 event per hour. Thanks for the advice/tips!! I added the filter and made sure the interface was securely attached and that solved the Darth Vader breathing noise! And best of all, no dents and marks on my face! Thanks again! So happy to have found this great invention!
Re: Bleep DreamPort
I love the Bleep. Its by far the best mask I have ever used. Sadly Im in the 2% of the population that the adhesive wont stay on with over a few hours. For a long time I had issues with the adhesive giving up around 3AM and Id get woken up with air blowing in my eyes. I tried a couple of things including using adhesive prep pads like they use for IVs and finally found if I use regular medical tape on top of the ports, MOST nights I can make it through the night without springing a leak.
Because of the long prep, I dont use the Bleep every night but I use it more than everything else and the nights I dont use it, I can really tell the difference.
I know theyre working a new hose. I ended up getting a Resmed mask off Ebay and cutting the hose and replacing the stuff one. That makes a huge difference. Id also recommend looking at the hose management system Stuart recommends. Also a huge upgrade.

I agree, the Bleep is the best mask I have used as well! I had so much trouble finding a mask I could use/tolerate. My first 14 months on CPA, I probably went through 14 different masks! Mostly on my own cost! Once the Bleep came out, I have used it exclusively and it has solved all the issues/problems I had.KungFuCow wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 8:11 amI love the Bleep. That said, I do occasionally have what I can best describe as "tunneling," where the adhesive loosens and a tunnel forms causing a leak. I just apply one of the end pieces of adhesive that I have cut off and that works to seal the leak for the rest of the night. I have no idea why that happens.
I have also replaced the short hose with a more flexible hose, use a filter to diffuse the exhaust, and use the hose management system Stuart has suggested. Those modifications are great!
Glad it is working for you as well!

Im using plain old paper tape from 3M I bought at Harris Teeter and it works. Even that is usually curling up by the morning.

The Bleep is my go to when I feel like doing the prep work. If Im too exhausted to do all the prep work, Ill throw on the N30.
