Adapter for different diameter tubing?
Adapter for different diameter tubing?
I just got a ResMed Swift FX headgear, which seemed very nice in a test fitting, but the short tube attached to it is too small a diameter to fit on the end of the 6-foot Respironics (?) hose attached to my machine. Are there any adapters or did I just waste a bunch of money (can't return it once opened)?

No, with the exception of the Resmed mini, all masks fit on all hoses.randian wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 11:32 amI just got a ResMed Swift FX headgear, which seemed very nice in a test fitting, but the short tube attached to it is too small a diameter to fit on the end of the 6-foot Respironics (?) hose attached to my machine. Knowing that all masks have a 22mm connector and all CPAP hoses have a soft rubbery 22mm connector on the mask end should help you figure out what you're missing.

Take the end of the short hose and lay it next to the end of the long hose where the short hose is supposed to fit..
Take a picture with those ends next to each other.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: Adapter for different diameter tubing?
What I was missing was removing the female-female adapter at the end of my main hose. It's been there so long I forgot it isn't part of the hose. Duh! Once removed the RedMed hose slipped right in. Thanks!

That happens all to frequently.

Some Respironics masks come with that piece.
It is easily confused for part of the hose. (Intentional?)
One former DME tried to palm off a mask on me that was missing that part.
I opened the package in the office, and refused to accept the mask unless it was ALL there.
