Want to buy a used BiPAP

Post by Pasta » Sat Apr 18, 2020 2:54 pm

I haven't been active on here in quite a while once I got my ASV sorted out, couldn't remember if there was a classifieds and don't see one. We just went through massive furloughs and lay offs, and a friend at work just lost her job and insurance. We got her a cpap that's helping, but she really needs a BiPAP. Does anyone have an old one they aren't using that they'd be willing to sell me? I'd imagine local suppliers charge top dollar for used machines.

There are many kinds of bilevel machine... if she "really needs a bipap(bilevel)", then which if the many types of bilevel does she need?

I have one of these...used with approx 1600 hours on it that I might sell.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-sys ... to-machine
Includes....blower, humidifier, already converted to heated hose power and I have a heated hose for it, and travel case.
Send me a private message if you think it will work and we can discuss the particulars.

I thought it was only cpap, BiPAP, and ASV. My mom is her doctor, I'll ask her.

Nope,

"BiPAP™" is a registered trademark of Philips Respironics, only they actually make a 'BiPAP™', everybody else makes a bilevel, which is what a BiPAP™ is.

ASV is a type of bilevel.

There are several other types. S, T, ST, Auto, *VAPS, in addition to ASV. There's even a COPD variant of the Resmed S9.

Thanks to everyone who replied, I've found a BiPAP that will work perfectly. And I did verify that she did, in fact, need a BiPAP specifically.

I have one I am willing to gift provided you will pick it up (I am about an hour south of you). It would be a ResMed S9 VAUTO,
Machine: Aircurve 10 Vauto (Prior S9 VPAP)

I appreciate the offer, but I already got the ball rolling on a different model that is actually ideal for her. Thanks again though!

No problem! And, just to be clear, that is a bilevel machine (one of several flavors).

I'll double check with the doc to see which one she'd rather set her up on. Do you know how many hours yours has on it?

I heard back from the doc, she'd rather use the other model I found instead. Thanks again for the offer!
