Using a CPAP with having nasal polyps

Post by gfarinas75 » Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:13 am

Hello, I’ve been using a CPAP for years now. Recently I’ve been having trouble sleeping. Come to find out, I have nasal polyps that restrict the air flow in my nose. When I try to sleep and start to doze off, I start to feel pressure in my mouth. Then I have open my mouth and release the air. This disturbs my sleep and I can’t get back to sleep because it keeps happening. My Dr prescribed me Flonase to shrink the swelling and referred me to an ENT Dr. However the Dr said Flonase can take a few weeks to show results and the ENT Dr may take a while. Anybody have any suggestions to help remedy this in the meantime?

Use a full face mask. Many of us do. https://www.cpap.com/plp/full-face-cpap-mask/ZT0yNjU

I was thinking about that. How is the adjustment from a nose to a full mask?

It depends on how determined to be successful the user is.

I think the adjustment would be easy...I have used FF mask for years...Try the Resmed F20. It's one of the most popular.
