PROGRAMMING SLEEPSTYLE 200

Post by hdrules4ever52 » Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:52 am

SLEEPSTYLE 200

I just purchased the SLEEPSTYLE 200 online and I was how I enter my perscription information in the machine. I lost my health insurance is the reason why the machine was not previously programmed.
I tried looking at the manual but it's very confusing.
My diagnosis is OSA (G47.33)
AHI: 77.9
Rx: Auto-CPAP (E0601) @ 4-20 cm of H2O
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Go here to see if yours is listed (you didn't even give the brand name).

Most of the Sleepstyle 200 machines that I have seen are fixed pressure machines and the 4/20 pressure setting won't work. Is there an additional name on the machine? I think the Auto model is Sleepstyle 254.

Thank you for reply. No, I don't see any other name on the machine other than Fisher & Paykel Healthcare....

to follow up on what lsat says-

if it's not an auto adjusting machine, it's at fixed pressure. this means the minimum pressure and maximum pressure have to be the same. ie. 6 for min, 6 for max.

so if your prescription is for, say, min of 6 and max of 20, you won't be able to set it.

what does your prescription call for?

NEVER MIND. you already said what your prescription calls for.

If the machine is the basic SleepStyle 200 fixed cpap machine model...it won't be able to set to those settings and might be why the OP is having a problem setting it.
Minimum of 4 and maximum of 20 in auto mode....because there won't be an auto mode available.

The SleepStyle 254....has auto mode available.

All I can offer is go here and request the clinical/provider manual for the SleepStyle machines. It will explain how to get into the clinical setup menu area and if a person only sees one mode of operation offered...it's a fixed cpap machine.

Maybe the manual he/she has is just the user manual which doesn't explain how to get to the setup menu area so maybe he can't see the settings available.

Now a fixed cpap only machine can be used but you need to know more than 4 to 20 settings.....like where in between do you need to set it at and that's going to be hard to figure out. We don't know where your old machine spent most of the night.
And the SleepStyle models aren't compatible with OSCAR even if they did collect more than hours of use data to review.
The F & P software....I don't have source for it anymore anyway for the SleepStyle models. Flying blind for sure.
It was probably the least expensive option but there is a reason it was cheap. I understand about the money but it's not a machine I would be wanting to use myself especially if it is the basic 200 model and not the 254.

FYI: 4-20 is not a prescription.
It is the DEFAULT range of most APAP machines.
It is the "setting" used on apaps in tests sponsored by insurance companies
with the intent to skew the results away from apaps.
To serve the stockholders--NOT the patients.
