The hzmt was a joke???

That's okay...with how some people think nowadays about everything....you never know someone might think UV sanitation needs a hzmt suit. People come up up with some weird stuff you know.

Now I have always said that IF (big IF) I was ever immune compromised and ever felt the need to maybe do some extra sanitizing above normal soap and water cleaning....UV would be my choice.

The problem with UV in an odor situation is I don't think UV will remove unwanted odors. It will sanitize but I don't think it will help with odors the silicone has absorbed.

Worse, it produces an odor like burnt hair if it isn't cleaned first.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't ever use one of the UV cleaners since I don't feel the need to do beyond what little I do.

Burnt hair might stink worse than forest fire smoke.

I think that if I knew I was going to a questionable area where I might bring home a stinky hose or even mask....I would use a cheap generic hose that I wouldn't care to toss and one of the old well used masks that could also be tossed if a good soaking in something good smelling and sanitizing didn't give me the results I was wanting in terms of odor removal.
